First comes love, then comes marriage—with millions of people watching it all unfold on Netflix. At least, that’s how it works on the Love Is Blind franchise, a cultural phenomenon that has been the subject of internet memes and office Slack channels since its premiere in February 2020. The show consistently ranks in the Nielsen Streaming Top 10, with Season 7 debuting with 1.1 billion minutes watched.
Love Is Blind struck a particular chord during the early pandemic days, when people were isolated and craving connection—even if it meant watching other people find it on their screens. The series’ wild premise of falling in love and getting engaged before ever meeting face-to-face has kept viewers hooked. And lately, there have been several major headlines from Love Is Blind alums, from new romance sparks to divorces and baby announcements. The Love Is Blind universe is buzzing with chatter.
With Season 9 rumored to be filming in Denver and set to air this fall, it’s worth checking in on some of the franchise’s most talked-about alumni.
The Season 1 cast set the tone for future seasons, and Hotlanta certainly brought the fire. Specifically, it gave us fan-favorite couple, Cameron and Lauren Hamilton. The couple married in 2018 and had their season drop in 2020. As one of the first couples to ever say “I do” on the show, viewers have gotten to watch their journey over the past five years unfold on social media and through their podcast, The Love Seat.
After four years of trying to get pregnant, the couple took to Instagram in late May 2025 to share a surprise pregnancy announcement. About their fertility and IVF journey, Lauren wrote: “The moment that changed everything. #ClearbluePartner. After 4 years of prayers, patience, and a whole lot of love… seeing the word PREGNANT on our @Clearblue test made it real! Now we finally get to share this joy with all of you.”
What probably didn’t come as a shock to a lot of Love Is Blind fans is Colleen Reed and Matt Bolton’s recent divorce announcement. Their dynamic always seemed a little off, especially after they chose not to live together for two years after getting married.
The delayed merging of households confused fans. After nearly four years together, the Season 3 couple called it quits in a joint statement on Instagram. Their breakup news came just weeks after Reed shared her “baby fever” in an Us Weekly interview.
In June, Lydia Velez-Gonzalez took to the What’s the Reality podcast to announce that she is divorcing husband Milton Johnson. The two met on Season 5 of the series, but it wasn’t exactly love at first “talk.” Velez-Gonzalez didn’t really seem interested in Johnson until she was rejected by another love interest.
Needless to say, this couple wasn’t as beloved by fans—Velez-Gonzalez stirred the pot with several cast members, including a real-life ex. But despite several warnings from family and friends, they eventually said “I do” at the altar. Now, Velez-Gonzalez is filing for divorce and sharing her truth. Among her reasons for ending the marriage, she says on What’s the Reality?, Johnson’s lack of “emotional availability, maturity, support and communication.”
Amber Desiree “AD” Smith and Ollie Sutherland found love across the pond. Smith starred in Season 6 of the US edition in Charlotte, North Carolina, while fans first met Sutherland on the debut season of Love Is Blind: UK.
They both got engaged on their respective seasons and were both broken up with at the altar. Clay Gravesande broke up with Smith in a heartbreaking scene, and Sutherland was also dumped by his fiancée, Demi Brown, at the end of the aisle.
After their heartbreaks, Smith and Sutherland met while filming Season 3 of Perfect Match, the Netflix universe crossover show. Since filming in summer 2024, there’s been a lot of news from these two. First came the romance rumors, then an engagement announcement in March 2025, and most recently, they shared that they’re having a baby.
Probably one of the most unproblematic Love Is Blind: UK couples is Jasmine and Bobby Brown. Fans may have even come to love and accept Jasmine’s fiery mom, who picked Bobby apart on the show and called him “uneducated.” It’s all good news from the UK couple as they just announced their first baby together.
In a music video-style announcement in June, Jasmine shared on Instagram, “We’ve been keeping a secret. I’ve pictured your tiny face a thousand times. I’ve dreamt of this moment long before I knew how good life could get. Then, I met your dad and the rest was written in love.”
And then there’s probably the most controversial couple in Love Is Blind history. Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis, also known as “Lyler” as the internet has dubbed him, got married on Season 7, but the internet was in an uproar after it was revealed that Tyler had fathered three children (whom he referred to as “sperm babies”) and seemingly abandoned them to appear on the show. Thanks to content creators like Jessie Woo and Storytime with Rikki, the internet also dug up a number of pending lawsuits against him as well.
The consensus was that Tyler seemingly came on Love Is Blind to revamp his image, get free housing, a check, and a wife to pay the bills. But the most shocking part was when it became evident that Ashley knew these details and married him anyway. So it’s no surprise that after a little over a year of marriage, Ashley is filing for divorce. It turns out sometimes the internet really does know best.
