Southern Charm stars Austen Kroll and Craig Conover joined Kristin Cavallari for the Boston leg of the Let’s Be Honest Headline podcast tour. The trio was not afraid to go there—diving straight into the media frenzy the reality stars created a few years back.
In a recent episode of Let’s Be Honest, fans get a chance to listen back as Cavallari briefly recaps the episode and plays the audio back in full. The Southern Charm boys clear up the rumors about the multiple love triangles and whether or not Conover lied to Cavallari about Paige DeSorbo. They also dive into Conover’s dating life and what he’s looking for this time around, if Kroll’s girlfriend is the one, and the hardest thing they’ve had to live out publicly.
“This episode made me laugh. I laughed really hard listening to it back,” Cavallari reveals. “The boys were so honest and real…maybe real isn’t the right word. Sometimes, what happens is, guys will lie in front of people, but I’ll always get the receipts.”
It’s definitely a juicy one—and it’s Cavallari’s favorite episode from the podcast tour. As we know, Cavallari isn’t afraid to address the rumors and hash it all out.
The last time three friends were all together before the podcast tour, Cavallari says she was on Kroll’s shoulders humping his neck. They were singing Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” and Kroll admits that he was adamant about trying to make his ex-girlfriend jealous.
Speaking of ex-girlfriends, Conover is known for his salacious breakup with his Southern Charm co-star, DeSorbo. They dated for three and a half years, and DeSorbo officially confirmed their split in December 2024 after rumors spread that Conover was unfaithful.
Now, he is single and dating around, and he says he is having fun right now. “Life is about chapters, and I am really excited to be going into the next one,” Conover says. “Obviously, breakups are weird. We all go through them, but everything happens for a reason.”
He says he was able to evolve into a better version of himself. “For the future, I really want to experience life with my partner,” he says. “I want to travel the world, and I want someone who can travel with me.”
And as for dating apps? Conover is not a fan; they scare him. He is on Raya, however. “Baby steps—but it’s fun, and I’m ready to live again,” he says.
Kroll says he’s very direct and says it like it is when breaking up with a partner. While he does not ghost, sometimes his approach leans more toward being indirect—making the other person break up with him.
But he’s not alone. A lot of guys approach breakups like Kroll—becoming distant or cold, so their partner must break up with them. “I am not a ghoster, but I am like ‘Let’s walk around it, until you see it,” he laughs. “I used to be that way. It’s not what I do, but it is what I did.”
Kroll has been in a relationship with his girlfriend, Audrey Pratt, for over a year. The couple made their Instagram debut in May 2024, and Pratt was even introduced on Southern Charm in the season 10 premiere in December 2024.
Before his relationship with Pratt, Austen shares that he had to unlearn his habit of being one foot in and one foot out in relationships. “When I found someone who is so even keeled, I wanted to make it official,” he says. “I wanted to spend a lot of time with her versus previous girls.”
DeSorbo announced her breakup with Conover on an episode of her podcast, Giggly Squad. And while Conover says that he was not upset about how it happened, he was still sad it was happening. “If you complain about the way you are broken up with, I think that’s just masking that you’re sad that you are being broken up with,” Conover explains. “I was bummed about being broken up with, not the way it happened.”
Cavallari took that moment of the podcast tour to lean into the headline everyone wanted to know about—the rumored overlap between her brief hookup with Conover and his relationship with DeSorbo. Cavallari asked if Conover and her ever talked while he was with DeSorbo. His answer was a simple “no.”
He elaborates, saying, “I don’t know where that came from. I am a good boyfriend to a fault, and I don’t think that you should be with someone who isn’t your ‘one.’”
While the rumors initially annoyed Cavallari, she’s over it now because people know the truth. Conover agrees that you can’t worry too much about internet rumors these days—after all, it’s just TikTok and Instagram.
