B. Simone is nearly a year into podcasting with almost 52 episodes under her belt—and what a journey it has been. Recently on Let’s Try This Again, B. Simone shares about having the courage to serve and stepping outside her comfort zone. She shares how she recently put her best foot forward and went home to serve at her father’s church in Columbus, OH. The benefits of serving were far bigger than she could have imagined.

Take a note from B. Simone’s playbook and say yes to stepping out of your comfort zone. If you’re feeling stuck or scared to make a move, this episode is for you. Whether you’re afraid to start the business, leave a relationship, or quit a dead-end job, her answer is the same: It’s time to stop being scared. Start the LLC. Write the book. Buy the trademark.

“Stop letting fear control you. Don’t stay put when you should move,” she says.

The Beauty of Service

During prayer, B. Simone stumbled on a scripture (Matthew 23:11), which suggests serving others as a remedy for feeling unfulfilled. The desire to serve stayed with her.

In early 2025, B. Simone decided to go back to her dad’s church in Columbus, her childhood church. She hasn’t called Columbus home for 18 years nor been to her dad’s church to hear him preach in awhile. “Since I’m more mature as a woman, I appreciate my dad’s gift of preaching more. I was looking at my dad preaching in the pulpit thinking, ‘This man is phenomenal.”

During this visit, she felt a tug to serve her dad’s church. “At that moment, I realized this is where God is calling me to serve. I am having this revelation that He is calling me to serve my father’s ministry.”

B. Simone has now launched a monthly women’s event at her father’s church. Every third Saturday evening, she hosts a free event for women with different themes each month like “Prayer and Pilates” and “Healing and Brokenness.”

When You Give Your Best ‘Yes

B. Simone’s vision for the monthly event is to create a safe space where women feel open to share: “I knew I wanted to serve women and create a space where as soon as they walk in the door, their walls are falling down. I want a space where as soon as women walk in, they feel like they can be themselves.”

During the first Saturday women’s event, B. Simone says she noticed a palpable connection between the women: “As I look around the room, one group is hugging. One group was laughing. The other group is crying. This is a room full of strangers. It was the most beautiful experience.”

She says that the success of the event boils down to obedience. “When God tells you to do something, you don’t have to have it all figured out. Just show up. You don’t know what is going to happen in the midst of your obedience.”

Answering the Call

B. Simone‘s dad was deeply touched by her willingness to serve at his church, revealing how it was an answered prayer. She encourages listeners to serve because you never know who it will impact. “You are answering someone else’s prayer and what they are yearning for. Just by being you and using your gifts, you are answering someone’s prayer,” she says.

B. Simone wants listeners to have the courage to make a move. “It’s time to serve. It’s time to start the business, write the book, quit that job, and leave that relationship. Whatever God has been tugging you to do, it’s time to do it.”

It’s easy to choose comfort and the same habits and patterns, but B. Simone urges us to resist: “It’s never too late. You have to get out of your comfort zone. Be obedient to what God has called you to do in your purpose.”
