If you thought Scheana Shay’s résumé peaked with Good as Gold and her extensive Vanderpump Rules tenure, think again. On Scheananigans, our girl dropped a bombshell so wild that we had to rewind to ensure we heard it right: Scheana’s worked with BTS!
“I was in a music video with BTS,” she casually revealed, like it was no big deal.
The episode features Scheana chatting with Kevin Wu, a fellow OG of the early YouTube days. In true throwback fashion, the two reminisced about the heyday of viral music content—when lip-syncing reigned supreme, and nobody had a ring light.
So how did Scheana, queen of SUR and early aughts pop, end up in a video with the world’s biggest boy band? It all started with a simple gig through her agency. “I get a call from my agent and they were like, ‘Hey, we have this K-pop group coming into town and they’re filming a music video. They need a girl to play the lead. Would you be down?’ And I was like, ‘Sure!’ I didn’t know who they were at the time,” she admitted.
Can we just pause for a moment and appreciate its absurdity? BTS is a global phenomenon with billions of fans, and Scheana Shay is like, Yeah, sure, I’ve got time.
The song? “ON”—one of BTS’s most explosive tracks from Map of the Soul: 7. “I had no idea how big they were until after,” she laughed. “I started getting tagged by all these fan accounts like, ‘Who’s the girl with Jungkook?!’”
She described the boys as “so sweet, so professional, and incredibly talented” and noted how the entire set was buzzing with energy. “They were super respectful but also super focused. You could tell they were on another level.”
For those who spend more time watching Bravo than following K-pop—BTS is the seven-member South Korean supergroup that’s broken virtually every music record worth breaking. They’ve sold out stadiums globally, addressed the United Nations, and somehow made matching outfits cool again. The members—RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—are known for their precise choreography and a level of fame that makes *NSYNC look like an indie garage band.
Currently, the members are on a hiatus as several complete their mandatory military service in South Korea (yes, even pop stars have to serve). But fear not—a whole group comeback is expected for 2025.
Meanwhile, we’ll just be over here rewatching the “ON” video and yelling, That’s Scheana!
The crossover episode we really need? BTS dining at SUR while Lisa Vanderpump tries to explain Pumptinis. Let’s speak it into existence.
