Michelle Segar is an award-winning lifestyle coach and sustainable behavior change researcher at the University of Michigan. For nearly three decades, she has pioneered methods to create sustainable, healthy behavior change. We discussed what it means to be an unhabitor, decision disruptions, and her thoughts on New Year’s Resolutions. She is an advisor to leading global organizations and frequently interviewed in major media outlets like The New York Times, NPR, and The Wall Street Journal. Her latest book, “The Joy Choice” was named one of the Best Health Books by the Washington Post. It challenges the habit paradigm with startling evidence from emerging science and her decades of coaching individuals on creating sustainable behavior change.
