If your inner GPS keeps rerouting, Gabby Bernstein has a shortcut back to calm. On Dear Gabby, the host lays out seven spiritual lessons that act like a roadmap back to alignment—simple mindset shifts to help you reconnect to yourself, your intuition, and your energy.

Each lesson is designed to help you move from fear to faith, from control to trust, and from chaos to calm. Because according to Bernstein, that’s where your power really lives—right underneath the noise.

Gabby Bernstein: Lessons to Realign—Fast

1. Own your dreams

It’s hard to feel aligned if you don’t actually believe the things you want are meant for you. Most of us talk ourselves out of our dreams before we even start. We decide they’re too big, too unrealistic, or reserved for someone luckier. “Your dreams are meant for you,” Bernstein says. “Your dreams would not be planted in your life if they were not meant for you.”

Instead of treating desire as proof you’re behind, Bernstein says it’s proof you’re being guided. That pull you feel toward something new—a job, a move, a project—isn’t random. It’s the universe’s way of saying “this way.” Trust that what’s meant for you will keep calling until you’re ready to answer. The work, then, isn’t chasing. It’s allowing.

2. Recognize the root of your disconnection

Most people don’t notice when they’ve slipped out of alignment or are experiencing a disconnection—it usually shows up as stress or that low-level dread you can’t quite explain. Bernstein says it’s easy to think you’re in control because everything looks “fine” on paper, but control and peace aren’t the same thing. We have forgotten that the reason we feel so unsafe…and angry at the smallest thing is because we are out of alignment with the universe,” she says.

That forgetfulness is what fuels the spiral. You start clinging tighter to your routines, relationships, or plans, convinced that micromanaging will make things feel safe again. Instead, Bernstein calls this a signal—proof you’ve drifted from trust.

The invitation is to pause before you react, notice the tension, and remember what it’s trying to say: you’ve lost your connection, not your worth. From that awareness, you can start finding your way back.

3. Tend to the beliefs inside you

Bernstein says that everything starts with what you believe—because what you believe shapes how you feel, and how you feel shapes what you attract. Most of us walk around running mental programs we didn’t choose. Stories about not being ready, not being worthy, or not being enough. They’re subtle, but they quietly block what we’re trying to call in. “When we change the way we think and the way we feel…our energy begins to shift,” she notes.

That shift is the real work of manifestation. Reprogramming your beliefs starts small: catching yourself when you assume the worst, choosing curiosity instead of judgment, or speaking to yourself the way you’d talk to someone you love.

4. The universe responds to your energy

Once your mindset starts to shift, Bernstein says the next step is to own what you’re putting out into the world. Energy isn’t abstract—it’s the tone of your thoughts, the intention behind your actions, and the vibration you carry into every interaction. “The universe responds to your energy,” Bernstein says. Whether you realize it or not, it’s what people feel when they’re around you.

That’s why staying aware of your emotional state matters. You can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can control how you meet it. She encourages listeners to check in throughout the day: “What energy am I bringing into this moment?” If it’s anxiety or resentment, she says, pause and reset.

5. Learn from the world around you

Life will always hand you material for growth—usually in the form of people who test your patience or moments that don’t go as planned. “The world is our classroom, and people are our assignments,” Bernstein notes.

When something triggers you, it’s rarely about the other person. It’s a mirror reflecting where you still have healing to do. That small shift in perspective turns frustration into feedback. Suddenly, the coworker who annoys you becomes a lesson in boundaries, the delayed flight becomes an exercise in surrender, the breakup becomes a masterclass in self-worth.

6. Keep the faith

When life delivers the kind of pain that tests everything you believe in—a loss, a diagnosis, a heartbreak—Bernstein says that’s when your spiritual practice matters most. It’s easy to trust the universe when things are going well. The real work begins when they aren’t. “The universe isn’t always gonna give you what you think you want, but it’s always gonna give you what you need,” she says.

Faith, she explains, isn’t about pretending you’re fine. It’s about believing there’s meaning in what’s unfolding, even when you can’t see it yet. It’s the unshakable trust that even in the fire, you’re being refined, not destroyed.

7. Align with your inner truth

The final lesson is both the simplest and the hardest: live in alignment with who you really are.

“When you align with your inner truth, clean up your beliefs and take responsibility for your energy, you activate a guiding force,” Bernstein says. The more we live authentically and lead with love, the more we become part of the solution. “Your job, my friend, is to feel good. Your job is to shine that inner light,” she reveals.

When you trust your truth, your energy steadies, your choices simplify, and the universe can finally meet you where you are.
