Between Hooters attempting a “family-friendly” rebrand, Taylor Swift hiding while Travis Kelce chugged a courtside beer, and the internet spiraling over Off Campus, this week’s episode of Girls Gotta Eat’s “The Snack” covered pretty much every corner of pop culture.

Hosts Ashley Hesseltine and Rayna Greenberg spend the episode bouncing between all the week’s top headlines. So if you’ve felt out of the loop this week, consider this your weekly roundup of all things pop culture.

Hooters is trying to rebrand

One of the episode’s funniest tangents came when Hesseltine and Greenberg react to news that Hooters is attempting to reposition itself as a more “family-friendly” restaurant chain—a concept they clearly could not take seriously.

“It’s called tits,” Greenberg deadpans. “You named your restaurant tits.”

The hosts spent several minutes spiraling over the branding logic, joking that there’s simply no way to market a restaurant named after breasts as wholesome family dining. Greenberg even suggests alternatives like “Knockers” and “Nipples,” while comparing the rebrand effort to trying to convince people a Friday’s is somehow “beach themed.”

Greenberg also points out that most Hooters locations don’t exactly scream relaxing oceanside escape. “They put those places in strip malls so you don’t see people walk in there,” she jokes. So uh, nice try Hooters, but Girls Gotta Eat is not sold.

Everyone’s eyes are on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s courtside date

Hesseltine and Greenberg also weighed in on Swift and Kelce going viral at the Knicks-Cavs playoff game—specifically Travis’ very aggressive beer chug that immediately took over social media.

While some people online called the moment embarrassing and expressed concern for Swift, the hosts actually thought the pop star looked pretty entertained by the whole thing. “She’s like, that’s my man,” Hesseltine says, describing Swift’s reaction as more “playfully embarrassed” than genuinely mortified.

The pair also call out ESPN commentators for awkwardly referring to Swift as “Travis Kelce’s girlfriend” without actually saying her name on-air. “It’s like saying Jay-Z and his wife,” Greenberg jokes. “It was still just like, what’s the point of this?”

The point is, though, the couple’s dynamic somehow works because neither of them seems overly concerned with looking cool all the time. Hesseltine especially loves that Swift appeared completely unfazed by Kelce acting like the world’s most enthusiastic frat guy courtside. “He’s a Kelce brother,” she says. “They’re gonna chug some beer and pound their chest and act like a frat bro, and they’re also going to respect women. So let him cook.”

Everyone is suddenly obsessed with ‘Off Campus’

Prime Video’s Off Campus, the hockey romance series that’s suddenly everywhere online, had the duo talking—and Hesseltine, specifically, is fully gone over it.

The show follows college hockey star Garrett Graham and student Hannah Wells as a fake relationship slowly turns real, which Greenberg initially admits sounded “like the dumbest plot line [she’s] ever seen.” But even she eventually came around once the series shifted from light rom-com energy into deeper storylines surrounding friendship, trauma, vulnerability, and communication.

“Off Campus is so effing refreshing because it’s all about good people communicating well and behaving in rational ways,” Hesseltine reads from a post by wellness creator Liz Moody. “The drama doesn’t come from people being needlessly mean or stupid.”

The hosts also point out how heavily the series leans into millennial nostalgia, comparing certain scenes to 10 Things I Hate About You, She’s All That, and Friends. And apparently, the sexual tension is doing a lot of the heavy lifting online too. “There’s this longing that we love, this will they, won’t they?” Hesseltine says. “You’re like screaming at the TV like just tell her how you feel.” So yeah, they definitely understand why everyone’s obsessed.

The Summer House reunion delivered absolute chaos

The hosts wrap up the episode with a passionate breakdown of the Summer House reunion, which both hosts agree felt bigger than a normal Bravo reunion episode. “I had adrenaline the whole time,” Hesseltine admits. “It just felt tense.”

A huge focus of the discussion centered on the fallout between Amanda, Ciara, and West, with the hosts dissecting the lies and awkward attempts at damage control throughout the reunion. Greenberg especially felt frustrated watching Amanda and West repeatedly focus on clarifying when certain events happened instead of fully addressing the betrayal itself. “You guys did something really sh*tty,” she says. “The timeline is sort of irrelevant at this point.”

Hesseltine, meanwhile, admits she still has empathy for Amanda despite the backlash, pointing out how difficult it must be to grow up almost entirely on reality television while constantly being rewarded for toxic behavior and chaos.

They both agree the reunion left them emotionally exhausted—and there are still two more parts left to air.
