J. Lo Shaded Her Exes on Howard Stern—And ‘Taste of Taylor’ Has Thoughts
Bernadette Giacomazzo
Jennifer Lopez, known for her openness about her personal life, took things to a new level in her recent interview on The Howard Stern Show. Her statement that she had ‘never been loved‘ in her relationships, despite being married four times and dating some of the most famous men, sparked a controversial debate. Naturally, Taylor Strecker couldn’t resist adding her take.
Strecker teased Lopez’s comments with her signature mix of sass and curiosity on her show, Taste of Taylor. While she didn’t dive into every detail of the Stern interview, she leaned into the shade factor—because let’s face it, Lopez’s words sounded like a not-so-subtle swipe at her ex-husbands.
Jennifer Lopez opens up on Howard Stern
When Stern asked Lopez point-blank if she’s ever been “truly loved,” she didn’t hesitate. “No,” Lopez said. “What I learned is not that I’m not lovable—it’s that they’re not capable. They don’t have it in them.”
According to Lopez, her exes gave her material things—the rings, the houses, the fancy cars—but not the kind of emotional connection she craved.
She admitted she didn’t love herself for a long time, which she now sees as part of the problem. Following her most recent divorce from Ben Affleck, she said therapy and spiritual work gave her the clarity she’d been missing.
That may sound like classic self-help wisdom, but when it’s framed as “my exes just weren’t capable,” it’s hard not to hear the shade.
Ojani Noa claps back
If Lopez thought her words would float off into the celebrity ether, her first husband, Ojani Noa, made sure that didn’t happen. Noa, who was married to her from 1997 to 1998, quickly jumped on Instagram to blast her account.
“The problem [is] not us,” he wrote, referring to her other three ex-husbands. “Not me. The problem [is] you.” He accused Lopez of infidelity and of playing the “victim card,” insisting that he loved her and was faithful throughout their marriage. He also claimed she chose “fame and fortune” over him and begged him to keep their union intact, only to avoid bad press.
It was a raw, defensive post that painted Lopez as the one who sabotaged their relationship—not the other way around. In Noa’s telling of the tale, he was the solid, loyal partner, and she was the ambitious starlet chasing stardom.
What the other exes have said
Lopez’s other former partners have been more measured but no less revealing. Cris Judd, her second husband, told Us Weekly years ago that marriage takes work, and he believed Lopez wasn’t interested in doing the hard part. Judd’s father, Larry, is a lot less charitable toward his ex-daughter-in-law, outright accusing her of cheating on his son with Affleck (and echoing Noa’s most recent claims).
Marc Anthony, the father of her twins, has always been diplomatic, praising her work ethic and describing their divorce as a mutual decision rather than a scandal.
Sean “Diddy” Combs admitted Lopez was one of his “great loves,” even while acknowledging the relationship was messy. And Alex Rodriguez, her former fiancé, went on record to say he has “no regrets” and called her “the most talented human being.”
In other words, while Lopez insists she has never been truly loved, her exes seem to think otherwise.
Balancing the shade
Lopez’s claim that she has never been truly loved highlights how differently people interpret the same relationships. While she frames her exes as men who gave her material things but not emotional depth, they praise her work ethic and talent, acknowledging that their relationships were messy.
More than one ex has accused her of cheating, a stark contrast to Lopez’s claim. These stories paint a complex picture, highlighting the different perspectives on what love looks like, especially under the glare of fame. Some view Lopez’s words as dismissive, others see them as her truth, and still others interpret them as a reflection of the complexities of love in the celebrity world.
