If you were hoping the Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni legal drama would quietly fizzle out, brace yourself. It just morphed into a full-blown mess involving Taylor Swift, deleted texts, and alleged threats that feel ripped from the Bravo cinematic universe. And yes, a subpoena with Taylor’s name is now on it.

If you’re just catching up, let’s rewind. Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni were once co-stars on It Ends With Us. But their working relationship turned into a courtroom battle royale somewhere between casting and release. Lively filed a lawsuit accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and professional sabotage; Justin Baldoni countersued for defamation and extortion, and now that case, set for March 2026, is dragging in Hollywood’s most unbothered pop star.

Taylor Swift subpoenaed (yes, really)

TMZ dropped the bombshell: Justin Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, filed new legal documents claiming that Blake Lively’s team tried to blackmail Taylor Swift into publicly siding with Blake. Specifically, Freedman says Blake’s attorney allegedly threatened to release private messages between her and Taylor if Taylor didn’t offer public support. The cherry on top? Freedman claims Blake asked Taylor to delete their texts—an alleged case of evidence spoliation.

According to the filing, “one of Blake’s attorneys… contacted an attorney who represents Taylor and demanded that Taylor release a statement of support… intimating that if Taylor refused, private text messages would be released.”

Freedman isn’t just making noise. He worked with Taylor’s legal team and seems confident they’ll comply with the subpoena. However, even though the subpoena was quashed, Freedman did indeed get what he wanted: He got Taylor Swift to admit that she never exchanged text messages of that nature with Blake Lively, proving Justin Baldoni’s point that Lively is, indeed, a liar.

Blake Lively’s team responds (barely)

Blake’s attorney, Michael Gottlieb, called the allegations “categorically false” and described the filing as “cowardly… and completely untethered from reality.” He also accused Baldoni’s legal team of “shooting first, without any evidence,” and promised motions to hold them “accountable for their misconduct.”

But let’s be honest: When you’re accused of threatening Taylor Swift, denial might not be enough, especially when the Swifties are already in formation.

Team Taylor? We’ve been ready

The Girls Gotta Eat podcast summed it up best: “Keep my name out of your mouth.” When Taylor Swift’s team responded to the subpoena, they dropped what can only be described as a scorched-earth statement:

“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie. She was not involved in any casting or creative decisions. She did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release… [She] was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.”

In other words, Taylor didn’t just pass on the drama—she left it on read, blocked the number, and took the Eras Tour to another continent. As GGE noted, “She didn’t even see the movie till after most of y’all… She had days off and still didn’t care.”

While Blake once tried to portray Taylor as her personal Game of Thrones dragon, the reality is more like Daenerys ghosted the war entirely.

Public fallout: Travis Kelce unfollows Ryan Reynolds

Let’s talk about the silent signals. As previously reported, fans noticed that Travis Kelce unfollowed Ryan Reynolds on Instagram. Coincidence? Maybe. But in light of these new court documents, it’s feeling more like a calculated move.

According to sources close to Taylor, she was royally pissed and flat-out rejected the idea she was ever part of Blake’s imaginary Westeros power trio.

Where does the Lively vs. Baldoni case stand now?

It could be a game-changer if Taylor is required to testify in person or via deposition. The whole case may hinge on whether Blake was name-dropping Swift for clout or whether Taylor was genuinely involved. All signs (and statements) point to the former.

For now, it looks like Baldoni’s side is gaining momentum, and Blake’s strategy of weaponizing celebrity friendships is imploding fast. As GGE joked, even Blake’s husband Ryan Reynolds might be quietly pulling back, and if Travis is unfollowing, it’s fair to say Swift’s entire camp is circling the wagons.

The ‘Bad Blood’ is real

Whether or not Taylor ever takes the stand, she’s already sent a crystal-clear message: Don’t drag her into your courtroom drama unless you’re ready to get dragged by her and the hornet army of Swifties worldwide.

And if this all ends up in trial, we’re begging someone not to cue “Bad Blood” as the opening song—unless they want the jury to combust spontaneously.
