Khloé Kardashian Shares How Her Public Divorce Prepared Her for Tristan Thompson’s Affair
Stephanie Taylor
Khloé Kardashian may be a part of one of the most famous families in the world, but she still has her share of secrets. Lately, she’s spilling them all. Kardashian recently took to Instagram to share every cosmetic procedure she has ever had, a comment that has now gone viral. Maybe she took a note from little sister, Kylie Jenner’s, book on social media transparency.
On a recent episode of Khloé in Wonderland, Kardashian answers all your burning questions—from her whale phobia, to whether or not she believes there is life in space (Well duh! Listeners know she’s a big believer in extraterrestrials), and the weirdest food pairing she loves. Let’s get into it!
A very real whale phobia: Under the sea but not for Khloé
In case you were wondering, Kardashian’s whale phobia is real, not a made-for-tv moment. The blow hole, the eyeball—all of it freaks her out. Kardashian wants people to know that she would never hurt a whale, but she just doesn’t want to be around them.
It’s not just whales, it’s sea life in general.— “You don’t know what’s done there. 80 percent of our waters are uncharted and undocumented. Don’t tell me there aren’t mermaids by the way. We don’t know. You’re telling me planes crash, and we can’t find debris from big planes,” she says.
Specifically with whales, Kardashian says the size makes her uncomfortable. “Thinking about being in the ocean—there is no warning and no ripples. All of a sudden, a whale came out of the water. It’s horrible,” she explains.
Kardashian secrets for flawless beauty
Kardashian loves a simple skincare routine. She’s a fan of facials and washing your face every night before bed, along with plenty of moisturizers. She specifically uses beef tallow or any petroleum around her eyes to prevent wrinkles.
The Good American founder also loves lasers and facials, but she encourages listeners not to overdo it. “Know your skin type and just do what’s best for you. But sometimes, less is more,” she says.
Lessons from motherhood
Kardashian’s favorite thing about being a mom is the different level of respect and appreciation she now has for her own mother. I mean, who wouldn’t want to have the ultimate momager, Kris Jenner, as their mom.
“Once you have kids, you realize the sacrifices parents make. They do so much. The smallest things to the biggest things—from a pool party to a sleepover to birthday parties—how much effort and work that takes. Being a mom makes me appreciate my mom so much more,” she says.
What makes Kardashian the happiest
No surprise there, but Kardashian is the happiest when she is with family and at home. Her family is her safe place, and she’s known to not leave the gates of her community in Calabasas. “I love people coming to me and being the home that’s the hub. Everyone comes to my house. I take pride in that, even if I am complaining and exhausted at the end of the day,” she admits.
Her other happy place? Her bed. “What makes me really happy is laying in my bed, binge watching TV, and no one talking to me,” Kardashian adds.
Favorite weird food combo
Inspired by her aunt Shelly, Kardashian loves pairing Port Wine spreadable cheese with Wheat Thins. Although she doesn’t think it’s real cheese, she loves it and keeps it in her fridge at all times. “It’s so nostalgic for me. Sometimes, I am in a funk, and I just want to pig out. It’s the saltiest cheese and I love it. It’s also the memories from being a kid,” Kardashian says.
What moment made Kardashian feel the strongest
Kardashian thinks everything that happens in life, even if it’s not all positive, is meant to happen. “I have had many moments that have prepared me for other situations in my life where I was able to endure them,” she says.
A perfect example is her public divorce from her ex-husband Lamar Odom. “It was a great love that was now lost. It was so public, and I had never dealt with something like that before. That was sort of a stepping zone for the next big traumatic thing that happened to me, which was when Tristan Thompson cheated on me right before I gave birth. No one can prepare you for something like that,” she says.
Kardashian recalls being hormonal and vulnerable during that time. The headlines were everywhere—Kardashian was nine months pregnant with her first child, True. When she gave birth, two days later the news dropped that Thompson, who was her boyfriend at the time, had cheated on her.
“I handled it the best way I knew how because I almost got a little experience of it from my divorce with Lamar. So it sort of prepared me. Everything prepared me for each experience in my life, and when you overcome those experiences, you feel so strong,” she explains.
How Kardashian starts the day
Kardashian is an early morning riser, which she says is probably the result of her mom never letting her and her siblings sleep in as kids. 4:30 a.m. is her regular alarm time, but even when she doesn’t have to wake up early, she naturally wakes up.
Kardashian loves her morning time, which she dedicates to herself. “I wake up early, and I have my coffee, my Bible time and my prayer time. The way I set the tone for my day just makes me feel really good. I function better. I have done it long enough that I have noticed a change in myself,” she says.
