Kristin Cavallari has been giving the media plenty of headlines lately. Her E! docuseries, Honestly Cavallari, is officially out and now streaming on Peacock, and Cavallari doesn’t hold back to address all the rumors about herself.
On a recent episode of Let’s Be Honest, Cavallari breaks down the final two episodes of Honestly Cavallari, episodes five and six. Episode five was Cavallari’s favorite to film: “I felt like it was my personal best show. I was just excited to talk about what happened between Craig, Austen and I because I had never talked about it for the most part,” she says.
If you haven’t watched them, you’re in for a treat. Cavallari dishes on a few juicy headlines and love triangle rumors, which of her guests were acting like “reality tv divas,” and how she used the podcast tour to take back her voice from the media.
In episode five, Cavallari welcomed Southern Charm’s Craig Conover and Austen Kroll to the stage. In 2020, there were romance rumors swirling about Cavallari and both “Bravolebrities,” but the three debunked the myth of the alleged love triangle. Cavallari and Conover briefly dated, but Cavallari never hooked up with Kroll. When Conover and Cavallari started hanging out, Kroll just took the heat for it.
“This media frenzy was such a big deal for me. [Dating Conover] was the first really big thing and scandalous headline after my divorce. It was the first scandal I dealt with as a mom,” Cavallari says.
A producer informed Cavallari that Conover and Kroll were throwing shade at her in the green room. It turns out they were upset because she had not said hi to them yet. Until she watched Honestly Cavallari back, Cavallari had no idea how mad he was. “I really just wanted the first time I saw them to be on stage. It was that pure of an intention. I didn’t want anything to come out before we got on stage,” she reveals.
In hindsight, Cavallari is glad she eventually went upstairs to say hi to them in their green room and had them come down to hers. But she had no idea they were so bitter. “It’s so funny to me. I say this with the most love, but these boys came across as such divas. They came off as reality tv divas,” Cavallari says.
Turns out that Conover was also mad after recording night two in Boston. So much so that he actually took their mics off while walking off stage. It turns out that Cavallari addressed a headline surrounding her short-lived romance with Conover that was off limits: the rumored overlap between their brief hookup and Conover’s relationship with his Summer House co-star, Paige DeSorbo.
Apparently, Conover’s team made a request to Cavallari’s producers to not bring up DeSorbo. While the request was not out of the ordinary, Cavallari had no idea. “It’s a very normal ask, but he never said anything to me. Also, of course, I am going to ask about Paige. That’s the last time you and I saw each other. I want to know if you lied to me about her. Are you kidding me?” she says.
Cavallari thinks it was such a hot button issue because he lied about DeSorbo. “I think there’s a part of him that feels guilty and caught red handed. He has dug himself a big old hole in the press lately. This was just one more thing adding to it,” she says.
The Garcia Twins, formerly known as the Bella Twins, joined Cavallari for the finale of Honestly Cavallari. Cavallari has known Nikki and Brie Bella for years, saying, “They are real, fun, and beautiful, and they have been through it in the headlines. They get this world. There’s no better way to close out the tour than with strong, independent women.”
The Garcia twins really popped on camera. They shared about love, heartbreak (Nikki was previously engaged to John Cena), and navigating public breakups . Cavallari says she is grateful for Nikki’s willingness to come on the tour fresh after her divorce from ex-husband, Artem Chigvinstev.
The one thing Nikki wanted to address is that she is painted as a villain in the media because of the character she plays in the WWE, something Cavallari relates to, as she’s also been misrepresented by the media. “That’s not real, and that’s not her. I have felt that coming from reality tv and playing a character. It’s hard. I have gotten to a place where I am okay with being misunderstood,” she says.
