The name Kim Zolciak sparks instant memories of wigs, “Tardy for the Party,” and those champagne-soaked showdowns on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. But as the reality-TV legend just reminded a sold-out crowd on Kristin Cavallari’s Let’s Be Honest live tour, she’s not simply a headline—she’s a survivor who’s weathered Bravo drama, a messy split from ex-NFL star Kroy Biermann, and a very real eviction.
At 47, Zolciak’s telling her own story, in her own (often unfiltered) words.
When Cavallari asked whether RHOA story lines were manufactured, Zolciak didn’t hesitate: “It’s 100 percent real. Come on. I promise you.” (Sure, Jan.)
That authenticity set the tone for an hour of hard truths, tequila shots, and a drinking-game confession that the former nurse and mom of six never expected to be defending herself against daily tabloid rumors in her mid-40s.
Despite being criticized for her glam lifestyle, Zolciak clapped back at the “she spent all Kroy’s money” narrative with trademark candor: “First of all, I love when people tell me I spend all Kroy’s money…I’ve made way more than Kroy.”
She added that Biermann—whose last NFL snap was in 2015—“has not paid a bill in this house in years.”
The designer handbags, tween-teen birthday bashes, and endless Starbucks runs were funded by her work on television shows, multiple competition shows, and brand partnerships. For every woman grinding to keep a family afloat, that’s a refreshing reminder that pink glitter can coexist with personal hustle.
Zolciak revealed just how vicious things turned once she filed for divorce: “His goal, when I said I was going to divorce him, was ‘I will publicly destroy you, you’ll never work again.’”
From “camera prisons” inside their Georgia mansion to accusations that Biermann sold her jewelry and designer bags, she painted a chilling picture of control—and kept calm precisely because her six kids were watching. “My kids are my entire life,” she said.
Those private clashes have now spilled into public records. According to WSB-TV, in April, deputy marshals spent more than three hours ejecting the estranged couple from their Milton, Georgia home after foreclosure proceedings wrapped and a new owner demanded possession. The information, however, wasn’t made public until a few days ago this month.
The court-ordered eviction came after judges had already instituted a literal closet-usage schedule so the pair wouldn’t cross paths inside the mansion—proof that reality TV’s dramatic twists can’t rival real-life divorce court.
Zolciak slammed Biermann’s allegation that she has a gambling addiction, joking that she’s “never gambled in a casino in 14 years without Kroy gambling as well.”
She also blasted him for weaponizing the word “unfit” in custody motions: “The only thing that hasn’t been said about me is that I’ve been a bad parent.” Anyone raising kids while juggling reality fame understands the sting—and the steely calm—it takes not to fire back in kind.
The story doesn’t end with court filings and divorce acrimony. Zolciak just wrapped a yet-to-air Hulu series she teased as “20 people in a house going for a million dollars.” She’s also reviving her podcast with “her best friend Jen” (a familiar refrain for Real Housewives OGs), shifting the focus from fluffy family antics to “helping people one day at a time” through real conversations about divorce, addiction, and bouncing back stronger.
Meanwhile, she’s settled in a new Cobb County home—far from the cameras her ex allegedly hid under beds—and leaner, wiser, and fully in control of her narrative. In her own words: “I do feel safe.”
Kim Zolciak is still rocking long blonde hair, a glam squad, and enough lip kits to fill Costco shelving. But beneath the lashes is a woman who’s learned to protect her peace, keep meticulous receipts, and—most importantly—refuse to let anyone else write her ending.
Surviving Housewives might have been her origin story, but thriving on her own terms is clearly the sequel we’ll all be binge-watching next.
