Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin Are Ready to Talk About the Husband

Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin

Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin are finally doing what Rinna spent years turning down: starting a podcast. The couple’s new show, Let’s Not Talk About the Husband, cheekily named after one of Rinna’s most explosive Real Housewives moments, marks their first collab since her departure from Bravo.

“I’ve been trying to get you for years, Lisa,” Michael Bosstick revealed when they sat down together on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast (out today), with Lauryn adding she’d been pursuing Rinna since 2017. Rinna explained her previous resistance: “When I was doing Housewives, I stopped doing podcasts because I got myself in so much trouble… I said to my publicist, I will never, I’m not doing podcasts anymore.”

In the episode, the Bossticks shared with Rinna and Hamlin what it’s like to podcast together for nine years as a couple. “You know, people talk about couples therapists, but we’ve done this for so long in a public forum… I feel like we’ve gotten like 900 hours of couples therapy,” Michael shared.

“You’re both really good at being on a mic and you guys are damn good at it together,” Lauryn said. Michael added that he remembered Rinna’s memorable Howard Stern appearances: “The fact that I remember those shows, and I didn’t really… I was obviously not your target demo at the time.”

The couple shared candid insights into their 32-year marriage, including Hamlin’s initial resistance to RHOBH. “I have my divorce lawyer on speed dial, which I still have,” Hamlin revealed. Hamlin then pulled off what might be the smartest move in Housewives history by never signing a release form. By deliberately arriving late to Rinna’s first filming, he forced producers to include him on his own terms. “They had to put me on without a release,” he said, explaining how he skirted around production.

Now, as podcast co-hosts, they’re navigating new territory together.

“It got a little jabby,” Rinna admitted after recording their first episodes and reflecting during their post-recording car rides. They learned they needed alone time after recording: “We drive here together. We get home… I probably don’t see him for a good two hours. We go separate ways,” Rinna says.

According to Rinna, it helps that Hamlin has “a degree in psychology from Yale.” Hamlin adds that it came in handy “when you’re dealing with all the personality disorders that we were dealing with on a daily basis” during their reality TV years.

Let’s Not Talk About the Husband promises to showcase the same candor and chemistry that’s kept audiences entertained for years—just don’t expect Hamlin to promote it on social media. “I wouldn’t know how to go on Facebook, I wouldn’t know how to go on Instagram,” he said, with Rinna adding, “He’s the happiest person on the planet because he has no social media.”

So how does Lisa look so good at 61 and what’s the secret to Harry’s pasta sauce? You’ll have to listen to the full episode, out now, on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast.

Our Shows
Over 50 & Flourishing
Welcome to Over 50 & Flourishing, the show for any woman who feels like she lost her compass in the sea of midlife. I’m here to tell you it’s never too late to change your course and awaken the healthy, wise, and wonderful woman within. My name is Dominique Sachse, and I love to ask questions, which was why I spent nearly three decades of my life in the TV news business. I also started a YouTube channel in 2014 to connect intimately with my community, and I took an even deeper dive in my book Life Makeover - Embrace The Bold, Beautiful and Blessed You. I’ll be the first to say, I’ve made mistakes, and I’m not afraid to be vulnerable and learn from them. I mean let’s face it, this stage of life can be complicated. Children are moving out, relationships are being examined, our parents are aging, and we’re having to manage all of this along with our menopause! It’s easy to lose sight of ourselves, but can I just say.. we matter. So, whether it’s finding ways to enhance and celebrate our own beauty, taking bold steps toward living our best life in the second half of life, finding ways to be healthier, happier, and more spiritually connected, I will bring you thinkers and innovators who share the same passion of flushing out these ideas. It’s my goal to leave us all feeling inspired, thought and intent-driven, and with a sense of purpose in whatever we pursue. Let’s celebrate growing older together and embrace our Prime. It’s our time!
