Did ‘The Traitors’ Push Lisa Rinna Past Her Breaking Point? She Took Us Behind Castle Doors on ‘Let’s Not Talk About the Husband’

Lisa Rinna has survived both Broadway and Dancing with the Stars’ ballroom bootcamp, but the reality TV veteran says nothing prepared her for The Traitors.
“Was it hard? Very. Harder than ever,” she reveals on Let’s Not Talk About The Husband. “Harder than anything. Is it harder than Dancing with the Stars? Yes. And harder than Broadway.”
The admission comes as anticipation builds for the upcoming season of The Traitors, where contestants live in a Scottish castle and attempt to identify hidden “traitors” among them while competing for a cash prize. Rinna wastes zero time teasing the cloak-and-dagger drama that goes down when celebrities are thrown into the Highlands to sniff each other out. While Caroline Stanbury called the experience a makeshift spa day, Rinna paints it as survival training—minus the wet wipes, plus a very opinionated Alan Cumming.
Why The Traitors pushed Rinna past her breaking point
Rinna admits she flew straight from Paris Fashion Week to a Scottish castle to begin filming. “I was staying in a castle,” she laughs before confirming, “I went and did this little show called Traitors.” Lucky for us, we had Harry Hamlin asking her the million-dollar questions.
After calling the competition brutal, Rinna labels her costars “fierce badasses.” The show’s format requires contestants to form alliances, identify traitors, and survive elimination rounds—all while living together in close quarters with no outside contact. According to Rinna, those alliances formed quickly, and betrayals followed even more rapidly. Hamlin jokes about grabbing a flask of liquor at home, asking if he should expect post-castle PTSD. Rinna reassures him—kind of. “Have I bit your head off yet? I’ve been pretty good,” she opines, reminding her longtime hubby that an ironclad NDA is in place, so if she shares any details of the filming, “I would have to kill you.”
Phone detox, castle lockdown, and zero sleep
Beyond the mental chess match, Rinna describes a production bubble that rivals Celebrity Big Brother for isolation. “They take your phone from you, and you don’t have your phone,” Rinna shares, adding, “It was the greatest thing ever to happen.” No Instagram scrolling, no press junkets—just 24/7 gameplay inside centuries-old stone walls where sunsets barely happen. “It doesn’t get dark till, like, one in the morning,” Hamlin marvels, and Rinna agrees the near-continuous daylight was “trippy.”
Why Rinna’s trauma is excellent news for viewers
When a veteran reality star rates The Traitors above the pain of ballroom blisters and Broadway’s grueling eight-shows-a-week schedule, audiences should brace for a binge-worthy season. Expect backstabbing, sleepless nights, and high-fashion confessionals (she did pack the wigs, after all). Until the series airs, all anyone has are Rinna’s tantalizing clues—and the promise that beneath the castle turrets, even the fiercest Real Housewives can be shaken to their core.
If Stanbury’s experience was about bronzer and bonding, Rinna’s is about battle scars and bragging rights. Grab popcorn, pour some Rinna wine, and prepare to watch The Traitors put your favorite lip-liner queen through her most challenging role yet.
