If you’ve ever wondered how Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin have stayed vibrant and energized after decades in Hollywood, a recent episode of Let’s Not Talk About the Husband broke down their individual approaches.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, their strategies are as different as night and day. Rinna swears by products, supplements, and skincare, while Hamlin adheres to a philosophy of simplicity and letting the body do its own thing. However, when combined, their approaches create a refreshingly balanced perspective on health, aging, and what truly works when it comes to effective wellness hacks.

Whether you’re skincare-obsessed like Rinna or minimalist like Hamlin, there’s something in their conversation that proves longevity isn’t about finding the “right” method. It’s about finding what works and sticking with it—plus the occasional oatmeal cookie.

Lisa Rinna’s wellness hacks: supplements, skincare, and sunscreen

Rinna admits her bathroom counters are overflowing with products. “As I was sitting in my bathtub, I looked around and I thought, I’m blessed with a great amount of products that a lot of people send me as gifts,” she says.

For the now and forever Days of Our Lives legend, that mix includes Dr. Barbara Sturm’s cult-favorite skincare line, which she credits with transforming her skin problem. “Seven years ago, when I started her products, my skin stopped breaking out. Not only did it help that, but it also helped my melasma,” she says.

Her commitment to longevity doesn’t stop in the bathroom mirror. Rinna also keeps a kitchen cabinet stocked with supplements. “I believe my cortisol level is through the roof, and my adrenals are shot. So, you saw me take an adrenal pill, a B vitamin, a multivitamin, vitamin D5000, and a bone-building calcium algae pill,” she details.

She’s also incorporated peptides into her daily routine to help with metabolism and muscle tone, explaining, “I think they’re keeping my muscle tone a bit more and keeping my metabolism higher.”

And then there’s her non-negotiable: sunscreen. Rinna stresses that she applies it not just to her face, but down to her chest and neck, a habit she learned from esthetician Renee Rouleau nearly two decades ago.

Harry Hamlin’s wellness hacks: movement, fasting, and simplicity

Hamlin’s approach represents the opposite end of the wellness spectrum. “I haven’t washed my face in 40 years,” he says, admitting that his skincare routine once consisted solely of baby oil.

Even now, he limits himself to minimal products and believes strongly in the body’s ability to self-regulate. “The human body is the greatest machine the universe has ever created,” he adds. “If you let it do its own thing, it knows how to regulate your skin, your digestive tract, [and] your blood.”

Instead of products, Hamlin focuses on movement and consistency. Echoing what he previously shared on Day in the Life, his daily routine includes an hour-long hike covering just under three miles—“Do it every day and work up a sweat”—plus weight training three times a week in their home gym. Hamlinnd has practiced intermittent fasting for a decade, and his energy comes not from coffee but from yerba mate tea. “It’s my happy drink,” he shares. “I have it every day. I love it so much.”

The combined wisdom of opposite approaches

Together, Rinna and Hamlin embody the two ends of the wellness spectrum—one rooted in supplementation and skincare science, the other in natural rhythms and physical activity. The beauty of their combined approach is that it shows there isn’t just one way to thrive. Sustainable health can take multiple forms; different wellness approaches can coexist and even strengthen each other.

For Rinna, the key lies in skincare advances and carefully chosen supplements that help her feel her best. For Hamlin, it’s about trusting the body, moving consistently, and eating clean (though he happily admits his “one vice is having an oatmeal cookie”).

And despite their differences, they agree on one essential truth: Small, repeatable habits are the real wellness hacks. As Hamlin puts it, “Exercise is way up here. As you get older, you have to do more of it, and you have to do weight-bearing exercise.”

Whether you’re filling your shelves with serums like Rinna or keeping things stripped bare like Hamlin, their shared philosophy proves that longevity isn’t about extremes. It’s about showing up for yourself every single day.
