One Tree Hill is a teen drama about kids growing up in Tree Hill, North Carolina. Lucas lives with his single mother Karen Roe (played by Moria Kelly) while Nathan lives with their shared father Dan Scott (played by Paul Johansson).

Shows Related to One Tree Hill

Like plenty of our other fave early 2000s’ hits, there aren’t direct spin-offs to One Tree Hill. (As much as we would’ve LOVED to all the characters adult lives’!) But there are a few rumors… Allegedly, Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton Morgan are reported to be shooting a spin-off sequel series! The show is said to take place 20 years after the final episode of One Tree Hill, focusing on Brooke and Peyton’s adult lives as they raise their teens in Tree Hill.

Of course, with all spin-off series, this is still widely up in the air. That said, if you’re missing our favorite OG girl gang, you can listen to their podcast, Drama Queens, where Bethany Joy Lenz, Hilarie Burton, and Sophia Bush dissect every episode of OTH together.

Is One Tree Hill a Good Show?

One Tree Hill is ABSOLUTELY a good show! The small-town setting, relatable storytelling, and easily lovable characters all make the series such a well-crafted work of early 2000s art. Unlike a lot of the other series that were popular at the time, OTH felt refreshingly grounded. The plots involve things like after-school side gigs, challenging family dynamics, and real teen problems that SO many of us could truly relate to.

One Tree Hill isn’t one of those shows you just turn on in the background for noise. It’s one that you settle down for, cry with and laugh at, and go back to time and time again. (Hence the reason we created this list of shows LIKE One Tree Hill!)
