Snooki Talks Bribing Her Kids, Date-Night Martinis, & Reuniting with the ‘Jersey Shore’ Fam
Bernadette Giacomazzo
“I would honestly like to go out once in a while just to dress up because he needs to recognize I’m still pretty,” she says on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast. “At home, I look homeless.”
That’s the real Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi talking—reminding her husband Jionni LaValle that she’s still got it, even if mornings involve socks with sandals and oversized sweatshirts at school pickup these days. Hosted by Michael and Lauryn Bosstick, the conversation covers marriage, motherhood, and fame with the same blunt honesty that made her a Jersey Shore legend in the first place.
Unlike other reality TV veterans, Snooki’s glow-up hasn’t been about turning into someone else. It’s about staying the same person everyone fell for back in the day—just a little older, a little busier, and a lot more self-aware.
Snooki Talks Life Beyond the TV Screen
Mom life means Target, matcha, and bribery
Forget candlelit dinners and couples’ retreats. Polizzi swears by pajamas and martinis in the spare room. “Even though we don’t go on dates as much as I would like us to, we do have our movie nights,” she says. The ritual is simple: wine, a charcuterie board, and whatever’s on TV once the kids are in bed.
That doesn’t mean she doesn’t want the occasional chance to go all out and be entirely glamorous, but she’s not pretending either that mornings in her house are picture-perfect.
They’re loud, chaotic, and require caffeine—just like she does. “Stop saying mom 25 times,” she jokes, adding, “I need to get my matcha drink and then go to Target and walk around for like 30 minutes and then I’ll be fine.”
She’s also unapologetic about the hacks that help her maintain her sanity. “I bribe with everything. I’m like, I don’t care.”
Reality TV without the filter
Snooki has never sugarcoated what it was like to be thrown into overnight fame. She remembers unpaid early seasons, embarrassing hookups caught on camera, and the public judgment that came with it. “Everything was real,” she shares. “Unfortunately, I can’t say it wasn’t, because there are a lot of embarrassing things that I wish I could forget.”
She’s also fully aware that her kids will one day see the wild Jersey Shore footage. “My kids think I’m an actress right now,” she says, adding that she’ll keep it that way “until they’re like 18, then maybe I’ll tell them.”
When trolls come for her
Living online comes with haters, but Snooki’s approach is simple. “I kill people with kindness and then they feel so dumb that they’re like, ‘Oh, you’re actually a chill person,’” she explains. For her, the line is crossed when people drag her kids or husband. Then, she admits, “I get mama bear and I get annoyed.”
Building her empire
Beyond the meme-worthy moments, Polizzi has built a career that bears little resemblance to the girl who once showed up to casting calls in leopard-print bodycon dresses and “four shots deep.” She now runs four retail shops and a wine brand. “That’s like a full-time job running all four stores,” she says. “The employees, the inventory, and all that. It’s a lot.”
And she’s still filming Jersey Shore: Family Vacation with her castmates and longtime friends, all of whom have grown up just like she has.
But just because they’re a little older doesn’t mean they’re getting boring. Snooki makes it clear that despite her marriage and motherhood, she still knows how to rage out when it counts. “When you guys get the cast back together, did you guys have that same essence and magic that you had years before?” asks Lauryn.
“Everybody was like scared because obviously we were older. I had two kids at the time, so they were like, ‘Oh, how’s she gonna be?” says Polizzi, “and I was even rage-ier because I was a mom with toddlers, so I walked in like, ‘Woo, I came to party.'”
