Your Intuition Has Been Trying to Text You—You Just Left It on Read
Death to Stock

Somewhere between your third iced coffee and your 47th TikTok of the day, your intuition tried to tell you something—and you didn’t hear it at all. And according to spirit channel Christine Lang, that’s been happening way more often than you think.

On The Wellness Process, host Elizabeth Endres sits down with Lang, who’s been doing this work for 30 years, to break down how your spirit actually communicates, why your body starts picking up the slack when you stop listening, and the surprisingly simple ways to tune back in.

Whether you’re a crystal girly or just someone who’s been feeling off and nobody can figure out why, here’s the cheat sheet.

☐ Know the escalation ladder (your spirit doesn’t start with pain)

“Originally your spirit didn’t speak to you through that migrating back pain,” Lang explains. “The language of your spirit is emotion.” According to Lang, the escalation usually goes something like this:

  • You get a gut feeling that something is off and you go “nah” and keep moving
  • Then little signs and weird obstacles start popping up and you bulldoze right through them
  • Then your body starts doing stuff, small annoying things—sleep’s off, energy’s low, something’s not right—and you just throw coffee at it or scroll until you forget
  • Then one day your back goes out so badly you can’t walk and now it’s a whole situation and you’re like, wait…where did this even come from?

“Their spirit always goes, ‘It’s so not out of the blue,'” Lang says. By the time something stops you in your tracks physically, your intuition has been trying to flag it for a while.

☐ Try the non-dominant hand trick

“If you write a question with your dominant hand and then switch to your non-dominant hand and invite your spirit to write and answer the question, it is amazing the phrases that will come through,” Lang says.

The idea is that your dominant hand is connected to your logical brain and your non-dominant hand bypasses that filter entirely. You don’t have to be a journaling person or even a particularly spiritual person for this to work. Just grab a pen, write a question you’ve been sitting with, switch hands, and see what comes out.

☐ Learn your body’s side map

“The right side of your body represents your future and the left side represents your past,” Lang explains. So if things keep popping up on one side, pay attention to that.

  • Right side keeps acting up? Lang says that usually lines up with anxiety about what’s ahead or something you’re low-key dreading but haven’t admitted to yourself yet
  • Left side won’t quit? That’s typically something from your past you’re still carrying around, even if you’re fully convinced you’ve dealt with it

Lang shares the story of a 36-year-old CFO who needed a full knee replacement and had everything going wrong on her left side. She grew up in a trailer park and was carrying so much shame about her background that “the left side of her body literally drags behind.” Once they worked through it, her frozen shoulder resolved in about two months.

☐ Know what common symptoms are trying to say

According to Lang, specific symptoms often connect to specific emotional patterns. A few of the big ones:

  • Bladder or pelvic pain? Lang says that can be “unshed tears,” like emotions you never actually cried out
  • Eye stuff? Usually about “what you’re afraid to see,” like something you already know deep down but keep avoiding

“Avoidance and not speaking your truth are two of the most toxic things to your system,” Lang says. Basically if you’re not saying it out loud, your body is going to find a way to say it for you.

☐ Don’t ask your spirit questions when you’re emotionally charged

You get into a fight and immediately want the universe to co-sign you. Like, be honest, I’m right and they’re wrong, correct? Lang says that’s not how this works. “What we think we want is an answer,” she says. “What we really want is validation.”

When you’re heated, you’re not asking for clarity, you’re asking for backup. So first, calm down. Meditate, go for a walk, put on music that makes you feel like a person again. Then come back and ask something like “what’s a good nugget for me to learn from this?” instead of “why are they literally the worst human alive?” Curiosity instead of fingerpointing is how you actually get answers.

☐ Say ‘thank you, universe, I’m sure this is perfect’ even when you don’t mean it

“Sometimes I’m saying it through gritted teeth,” Lang admits. “I do not look pretty saying it.” It works because it cuts off that immediate spiral. You know the one—something goes wrong and your brain goes straight to are you serious right now or why is this happening to me.

Saying I’m sure this is perfect doesn’t magically make you feel better. You’ll probably still be annoyed. It just gives you a second to pause instead of going all the way down that path. And in that pause, your brain shifts from everything is ruined to okay…what’s actually going on here?

That’s the difference.
