If your unread texts are in the triple digits, your camera roll is 90 percent screenshots from 2023, and you’ve been wearing the same three sweaters since October, welcome to the club. On What We Said, best friends and cohosts Jaci Marie Smith and Chelsey Jade Curtis talk through their full spring reset lists—and most of it has nothing to do with reorganizing your pantry.

Here’s the checklist.

☐ Use Gmail’s new manage subscriptions button

“Did you know that Gmail has a manage subscriptions button now?” Curtis asks Smith. “You can click manage subscriptions and it gives you a list of everything you’re subscribed to from that email and you can just go down and push unsubscribe. I unsubscribed from everything in less than five seconds.” She says it genuinely lifted a weight off her chest.

☐ Download a photo cleaner app and tackle it day by day

Instead of spending a Saturday afternoon scrolling through 47,000 photos and wanting to throw your phone in a lake, Curtis recommends an app called Daily Delete. “Every day it will bring up photos from that day in previous years,” she explains. “So you only have that day of 2025, 2024, 2023 and you can look at all those photos and get rid of those ones.” Screenshots, duplicates, photos of people who no longer deserve the storage space. Day by day instead of all at once.

☐ Swap your closet for the season

Smith went into her closet and pulled every heavy jacket, thick sweater, and anything that screamed winter into a storage bin. “Now my closet is just tanks and t-shirts and I still havea denim jacket, a few lighter jackets,” she says. “All of the colors and the textures and everything are just screaming spring now and that made me feel very refreshed.” She says it also removes decision fatigue because you’re not sorting through stuff you know you won’t touch for six months.

☐ Get fresh flowers and thrift a vase

Smith brought flowers to a friend who’s postpartum and grabbed a vase from a thrift store for $4. “You can get vases for so cheap and it just is such a fun little element to really spruce things up and make things feel very fresh and bright,” she says. She also realized she doesn’t have enough vases for her own house, which feels like the most relatable realization of all time.

☐ Switch up your bedding or even just your pillowcases

You don’t need a whole new bedding set. “Even like two different pillowcases or something that are a pattern that feel more springish, you can put those on,” Smith says. It’s a two-minute swap that makes your whole bedroom feel like a different room.

☐ Try the Minimalism Game for decluttering

Curtis found this one and it’s kind of genius. “You get rid of one thing on day one, two things on day two, and you do it for 30 days,” she says. “By day 10, you’re getting rid of 10 things. On day 20, you’re getting rid of 20 things.” You can do it with friends and whoever gives up first loses.

☐ Actually notice spring happening around you

Curtis says she watches the new blooms on her jasmine plant every single day. “In the springtime there’s so much new growth,” she says. “If you stop and actually notice the flowers…you can see those new really bright green little buds…It kind of helps you transition from seasons. You can see that things are waking up and it kind of helps you center yourself.” You don’t need a garden for this. A daily walk and actually looking up from your phone works too.

☐ Keep a ‘when I have free time’ list on your phone

Smith keeps a running list of small tasks for those random 20-minute windows that pop up. “Clean my makeup brushes. Order a restock of this stuff,” she says. “You don’t need to sit around in boredom. You have stuff that you can do if you want to.” It’s not a to-do list. It’s more of a “if I have the energy and the time, here’s what would feel productive” list.
