10 Things Kristin Cavallari Is Loving Right Now

Kristin Cavallari—reality TV alum, Uncommon James founder, and Let’s Be Honest host, has spent years curating her lifestyle, and on her show she’s sharing her latest findings and obsessions. Everything from EMFs to alcohol, Kristin is all about finding hacks to improve your everyday life. It’s all about balance! Here are Kristin’s top favorites right now—what she’s loving, doing, and enjoying.

Batana Oil for Hair Growth

If you love a natural hack, you’ll be obsessed with Kristin’s latest find: batana oil. “This is one situation where TikTok got me,” Kristen shares. “I’m all for a natural hack. I think you guys know that about me by now. I love to, for the most part, keep things clean.” Batana oil is a natural hair alternative that can help improve damaged hair and irritated skin. It’s great for hair growth for people with alopecia and other conditions.

When you’re shopping, Kristin encourages you to look for labels that are organic, clean, or coldpressed. She applies the oil (which, she admits, “kind of smells like an ashtray or something”) directly to her temples and through her ends. “After six months, my hair is genuinely the healthiest it’s been in a long time.

PRF Under-Eye Treatment

Who knew that injecting your own blood back into your body could have positive results for your skin? One of the 10 things Kristin is loving is PRF, aka platelet-rich fibrin, a regenerative tissue-engineering process that promotes healing and helps your skin rebuild its collagen.

Kristin explains that doctors draw a sample of your blood, place it in a container, and spin it at a high speed for 15 minutes. Your blood will separate into its different components (think red and white blood cells and plasma separating like oil and water separating). Once the gold plasma forms, doctors “literally inject it under your eyes,” Kristin explains.

The plasma helps the skin under your eyes regenerate and replenish itself. Your eyes might be puffy for about “a day and a half, two days,” says Kristin, but your eyes will look filled in for about a week or so. “After you do it three or four times, you will notice that long term now, it actually makes a huge difference.”

Really Good Carbs

This might come as a shocker, but carbs are not the devil! Kristin used to be scared of carbs, but now she loves carbs and is all about eating everything in moderation. Every single morning for breakfast, Kristin has a slice of sourdough toast with two eggs. She eats rice for lunch, and for dinner, she’ll do pasta, burger buns or pizza dough from a local, organic bakery in Nashville called The Kneaded Loaf

“When you’re buying bread or pasta, look for minimal ingredients. That’s how you know it’s the good stuff.” Good quality carbs that are minimally processed are actually good for you (and the soul).

“There’s something to being free with food and allowing yourself to eat what you want to a degree without fear,” she says. “It’s all about balance.”

Unbound: A Woman’s Guide to Power

You’ve got to appreciate a good book recommendation from a friend. After a friend’s prompting, Kristin is reading Unbound: A Woman’s Guide to Power. The story of a dominatrix and lessons on power, this book flips societal norms of power on their head and challenges our ideas of dominance and submission.

Kristin explains that both dominance and submission are equally important, and there’s an art to the natural ebb and flow. Even the most powerful people can enjoy being the submissive and, allowing someone else to take control, creates space for their pleasure. The book goes beyond its surface premise: “I think it would be good for truly anybody to read, especially if you’re someone who wants to go after what you want in life, but you kind of don’t know how. This book really kind of gives you permission to be you and to chase your dreams.”

Omakase

“It’s a 16 course sushi experience,” Kristen says. “It’s one piece of sushi per course and you sit at the bar and the sushi chefs are incredible.” Kristin goes with her girlfriends and family (and recently with her kids for her birthday) and is in love with it. She explains how the high-quality fish is flown in from Japan and New Zealand. “The fish literally melts in your mouth.” While she notes “it’s not cheap, it’s definitely a splurge,” she insists it’s worth it. One great spot for omakase in Nashville is at Sushi Bar, and its on the list of top 10 things Kristin is loving. “It’s a cool experience for a special occasion, an anniversary, a birthday, something fun.”

Hema-Free Gels

“For the longest time, I would not do gel on my hands,” Kristin says. Kristin recently discovered hema-free gel polish after scrolling on TikTok and finding out that people are commonly allergic to gel manicures and get bumps and breakouts on their face. After speaking with her nail technician about her findings, she moved to hema-free gels. Kristin has been using them for her and her daughter ever since, and she predicts this will become more mainstream: “My nail girl did say she thinks eventually all gels will be hema-free.”

Red Light for Better Sleep

Happy sleeping! We could all use better sleep. It’s no wonder that red light therapy is one of the 10 things Kristin is loving right now. It helps your body produce its own natural melatonin at night and improves your circadian rhythm. Kristin swears by it so much that she even tried red lamps in her kids’ lamp shades during the pandemic (wild times). She wanted her kids to sleep well, but eventually, she got rid of them because they thought it was weird. A parent always has the best intentions!

Fast forward to today: “For Christmas I gave my kids, myself, my mom, Justin, I gave a lot of people these little red lights that can just sit by your bed. You can travel with it too… it’s about the size of your palm.” Kristin purchased hers from goop, but you can purchase them anywhere. They make a huge difference in your sleep quality, says Kristin, and helps your body wind down for the nighttime.

Comfy Sweats

Kristin loves a good pair of sweats, and she gets a ton of comments on the podcast like, “Where did you get your sweats?” A self-proclaimed “sweats whore,” Kristin says she spends the most money on sweats out of any clothing in her closet. Rebecca Minkoff recommended Joah Brown, and after discovering them, Kristin says she might not buy sweats from anywhere else. Kristen describes them as the softest sweats on the planet. Kristin also swears by Yellow The Label’s sweatpants, which she recently discovered, and of course her own brand,Uncommon James.

Eastside Martini

“I had no idea what an Eastside martini was until I was in LA,” she shares. It’s muddled cucumber, mint, lime juice, and vodka or tequila. Shake it and strain it, and voilà—a refreshing drink perfect for happy hour or when you’re out on the town with friends.

Analog Meters

If you live in an apartment or condo, sorry to tell you that you might be S.O.L. for this next recommendation. But as Kristin suggests, “If you own a home, definitely do this.” Her latest discovery involves replacing smart meters: “They emit the highest level of EMFs out of anything. Way more than your cell phone.” The solution? “You can call your electrical company and you can ask to switch it out for an analog meter… they sent someone out literally the next day.” While there’s a cost involved, she believes it’s worth it: “I do not want to be sleeping next to a ton of EMFs every single night.”
