5 Things—Besides Receding Hairlines—Walton Goggins is Making Us Reconsider

Everyone’s talking about Walton Goggins and how he manages to look hot despite a pretty crazy hairline situation. But The Fallout and White Lotus star recently appeared on Not Skinny But Not Fat, and we are here to tell you receding hairlines are not the only thing he adds some sizzle to. 

5 Things Walton Goggins Is Making Us Reconsider

1. Upstate New York

New York City gets all the glory, but Goggins makes upstate New York sound quite romantic, even sensual. “We have 125 acres upstate,” he says, “and I love it. Nature on the East Coast is not so dissimilar to the Cotswalds in England. And it’s one of the few places in America that has that feel. So there’s a season for everything.”

Put some logs on the fire, and we’ll see you upstate.

2. Bedtime Stories

Walton Goggins’ voice is on the Calm app, y’all. This is not a drill. “I read you a bedtime story,” he says. “It’s a story about a yard sale. You could go on the Calm app and I can put you to sleep this afternoon.”

Honestly, hearing Walton Goggins’ voice in my ear might NOT have the desired effect of putting me to sleep. If I’m the only one who feels that way, let me know, but… I doubt it.

3. Parenting Speeches

It’s hard to imagine disciplining a child in an appealing way, but Goggins seems to have done it? He told a story about how he got to the root of his son’s misbehavior that was honestly endearing. When his son was going through a phase of being, as he put it, “an asshole,” Goggins’ wife had to go out of town, leaving him in solo dad mode.

According to Goggins, he sat his son, who was 10 at the time, down for a chat. “I said, ‘I just think tonight is a huge, huge night in your life.’ And he’s like, ‘What do you mean, dad?’” (First of all, A+ framing device for a conversation with a pre-teen.)

“I said, ‘Well, you know, it’s a big choice. You know, this is kinda how you’ve been acting, and you could continue to act that way. And this is probably what your life is gonna look like. Or you could wake up with gratitude, you know, and really look around and be thankful for your life, and participate in our life as a family, as an active member.’” 

When Goggins’ son said he knew what he wanted, Goggins says he replied,  “Well, you can’t know the answer. That’s what’s so great about growing up, right? You have to think about this answer, because your decision is going to reverberate throughout the rest of your life.’”

After that, Goggins sent his son to bed. “He woke up in the middle of the night,” says Goggins, “and he said, ‘Dad, I thought about it. I’ve really thought about it, and I want to wake up with a life of gratitude every day. I promise that’s what I want. I wanna be that guy.’ And I just looked at him and I said ‘Wow, you are as wise as I thought you were.’”

Anyone else suddenly inspired to make better life choices? Preferably ones that lead to hanging out with Walton Goggins?

4. Goggle Glasses

Glasses have a reputation for being nerdy. Goggles arguably have an even worse reputation. But with Goggins Goggle Glasses, they’ve become… cool? Maybe even sexy? 

Goggins, who has worked with “four or five small businesses” throughout his life, has a new venture, and it’s both stylish and functional. Inspired by ski goggles that he saw at the resort near his upstate home, the Goggins Goggle Glasses are meant to be multipurpose. “Eyewear is one of the most fashion forward accessories that we can wear,” he explains. “It’s what people see first. Kids that wear them to school get a huge kick out of it. And adults wear them to a Phish concert, or, doing a sport. But really they just bring a lot of joy to people.”

You can swap out the goggle straps for regular glasses arms. Neat. And, sorry to say it, sexy.

5. Alliteration

As if calling his business “Walton Goggins Goggle Glasses” wasn’t enough, Goggins came up with a fantastic name for a fictional jam band he decided to start while he was on NSBNF. “The name of my band is Walton Goggins Goggle Glasses Garage,” he told Amanda.

Can you say that five times fast? Walton Goggins can. And he looks good doing it.
