Alexia Nepola is Setting the ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ Record Straight

Alexia Nepola has strong opinions about friendship etiquette, reality TV rookies, the Real Housewives of Miami (RHOM)’s meteoric return, and why the franchise deserves more respect.

The Cuban-born entrepreneur, philanthropist, and bona-fide style icon—known to fans as the “Cuban Barbie”—wasted zero time clearing the air about all of it during her appearance on Comments by Celebs with hosts Emma Diamond and Julie Kramer.

Alexia Nepola says Miami never stopped winning

Right out of the gate, Nepola defends the franchise’s glow-up. “I’ve always believed in our show. I just think our show keeps on getting better season by season,” she tells Diamond and Kramer, emphasizing that Miami’s bold flavor simply needed time to marinate before the rest of Bravo nation caught on.

She credited the city’s evolution—and Peacock’s reruns—for reigniting national interest, but Nepola thinks the network could have done more, adding, “I feel like we never were…promoted the way we should be.”

She leans into the drama—and the growth

While many reality stars shy away from messy storylines, Nepola embraces them as catalysts for personal transformation. Reflecting on her on-screen heartbreak with husband Todd Nepola, she acknowledges, “Yes, it was a betrayal…I was in shock and devastated,” yet quickly pivots to resilience. “After 17 months, I have [all] this awareness. I’m stronger today, and I can sit here and talk about it.”

Off camera, the former Venue magazine publisher pours that same fire into charities like Voices for Children, Women of Tomorrow, and Alfalit International, proving the glam doesn’t eclipse the grind.

Friendship rules: unfollow your bestie’s ex

Nepola’s blunt wisdom hit a high note when the conversation turned to the season’s headline feud between Lisa Hochstein and Larsa Pippen. The sticking point was Hochstein’s stubborn decision to keep following Pippen’s ex, Marcus Jordan, on Instagram.

Nepola thinks the whole thing is ridiculous. “All this could have…been prevented…by unfollowing Marcus,” she says, noting that Hochstein met him through Pippen and owes her friend that courtesy. She also reveals a longstanding “Lisa habit” that fuels friction behind the scenes, shadily admitting that Hochstein “is famous for” not answering texts.

New Housewives must earn their stilettos

Every franchise reboot needs a wildcard, and Miami’s newest diamond, Stephanie Shojaee, made an entrance so grand it raised Nepola’s perfectly sculpted brow. “She came in really strong, [but] I feel like you have to earn that,” Nepola quips. While she applauded the rookie’s confidence—calling her a “wonderful addition”—Nepola made it clear that for her, flashy labels don’t buy instant sisterhood. Fans will watch the OG powerhouse test Shojaee’s staying power against Miami’s unforgiving humidity—and even less forgiving cast.

Love, loyalty, and unbreakable Latina spirit

Beyond the yachts and Versace prints, Nepola’s story is rooted in family and cultural pride. Raised between Miami and Madrid, the multilingual beauty holds degrees in special education and has built her career highlighting Latin fashion and celebrity culture.

Today, she juggles motherhood—sons Peter and Frankie are her “entire world”—with beauty entrepreneurship at Alexia + Frankie’s Beauty Bar. That foundation drives her empathetic approach on camera. “I’m an empath, so I feel sorry for people,” she admits.

What comes next for the self-styled Cuban Barbie?

When the hosts ask whether she’s “genuinely okay” with whatever the universe decides for her marriage, Nepola answers without hesitation: “Yes.”

Viewers can expect Alexia Nepola to juggle reconciliation talks with Tom, new business expansions, and a possible camera-free “re-wedding while refereeing cast conflicts with the same fearless candor that made her a breakout star in 2011.

Why Gen-Z and millennials can’t look away

Nepola’s appeal transcends age brackets because she embodies Miami’s maximalist DNA—bold, unapologetic, and relentlessly evolving. Whether she’s rocking couture on South Beach, championing LGBTQ+ causes, or reading a frenemy for filth during a cafecito run, the message is clear: growth doesn’t require shrinking your sparkle. “I’m happy with where I am today,” she declares. As Season 6 of RHOM heats up, expect Nepola to keep “setting the record straight” with the same mix of humor, heart, and high-gloss glamour that turned the show into appointment TV.
