B. Simone’s Podcast Is Proof That Starting Over Is a Superpower

B. Simone has always been about evolution. From her rise as a social media personality to touring with comedy legends like Martin Lawrence and Dave Chappelle, her path has been one of resilience, faith, and fearless reinvention. Now, with the launch of her podcast Let’s Try This Again on Dear Media today, B. Simone is taking her storytelling to a deeper, more personal level. We sat down with B. Simone while she was in the studio at Dear Media, where she chatted with us about her journey of self-discovery, her approach to manifestation, and what’s on her vision board for 2025.

Q&A with B. Simone

Q: You launched your podcast last April 2024. Why was it time for you to start Let’s Try This Again?
B. Simone: I started podcasting in a season where I was broken. A lot of my early episodes, I’d stop the mic because I’m crying. But it’s been therapeutic for me—my podcast is my virtual diary, and my audience has grown with me. I think it’s just so dope for people to have a platform where they can be their true authentic self and they create that.

Q: Why did you choose the name Let’s Try This Again?
B. Simone: It started after walking away from a podcast that wasn’t serving me. I was like, I don’t want be a part of this business or this relationship anymore. It was unhealthy for me. So walking away from that, that’s where the name came from. I’m so resilient. I had to try podcasting again, try using my voice again. Let’s just try it again. And it wasn’t just about that situation. It’s about everything in life—relationships, businesses, money. We all have moments where we have to try again. It’s a reminder that you can always start fresh, no matter what. I was on a 30-day spiritual fast, and God gave me the name on the 14th day.

Q: Manifestation is one of those buzzwords that feels like it loses meaning over time. What does it mean to you?
B. Simone: I always go back to Habakkuk 2:2. It says, ‘Write the vision and make it plain.’ I write down everything. I play what I call the manifest game, where I journal as if I’m already living the life I want. Speak things into existence. See, there’s a difference between sight and vision. Vision is like belief without seeing it yet. Manifestation is about faith over fear and to believe that it’s coming.

Q: What does your wellness routine look like?
B. Simone: I’ve been pescatarian for eight years, and I love studying Dr. Sebi’s practices and the alkaline diet. It’s about healing your body from the inside out. I also do foot detoxes, lymphatic massages, and spend time in the sauna. I write in the morning, I vent to God—I write how I feel and what I’m going through. At night, I wrap up the day with my Five-Minute Gratitude Journal and what I’ve learned.

Q: How does your faith influence your podcast and your work?
B. Simone: My dad is a pastor. I grew up in the church and I haven’t seen my dad preach in years. So I went back to his church in Columbus, Ohio, and I was watching him preach and I was crying. I was looking at his his ministry thinking, I could really help here, like make it more modern. So I’m going to start serving in my dad’s church this year and create a safe space for women to build sisterhood. Serving is giving your gifts and talents without expecting anything in return. We can get stuck on the things that we chase on a daily basis, but I want my podcast to be a tool for getting yourself together so you can be a positive vessel in the world.

Q: What topics are you excited to explore on Let’s Try This Again?
B. Simone: I want to dive into women’s health and sex. There’s so much I don’t know about my own body, and I know I’m not alone in that. I also want to hear from women about marriage and motherhood, even though I’m not in that space yet, because I want to be a wife and a mother one day. And then there’s mental health—so many people are hurting and feel stuck in dark places. I want to give them hope that they can try again.

Q: What’s next for you in 2025?
B. Simone: I’m launching an app that will offer exclusive content. It’s the hardest project I’ve ever worked on, but it’s going to be so worth it. I’m also planning to produce two films, one a comedy and the other a drama, both with impactful, positive messages. And I’m taking vocal lessons and acting classes, just for the love of it. Oh, and love—I’m manifesting love. My heart is open to it.
