Khloé Kardashian turns 41 today, and while she’s currently cruising around Italy for that one billionaire wedding, we have to say this might be her most impressive era yet. In the spirit of 13 Going on 30, we’re adapting the phrase for the 40s. Because in the words of Khloé, “Aging is badass. I am still young in my eyes. I still think 40 is really young.”
As the founder behind Good American, XO Khloé, and Khloud, Khloé certainly doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
In the June 26 episode of Khloé in Wonderland, she reflects on her successes in her 40th year, specifically citing the podcast as one of her greatest accomplishments. “Every guest has been solid, and there’s something you can learn from every guest. I’m proud of that. I think we can all easily do salacious, clickbait things, and I just didn’t want to do that. I wanted to do things of substance and that piqued my curiosity,” Khloé says.
In honor of her special day, we are taking a look back at some of the best moments from Khloé in Wonderland, which brought us guests like Jay Shetty, Mel Robbins, and Dr. Becky Kennedy.
Yris Palmer started her beauty empire in 2014 with just $500 and a side hustle mentality. Now Star Lash Extensions is a household name, and her biggest lesson is about not putting all your eggs in one basket: “I cannot stress it enough the importance of diversifying your income…The lash hustle wasn’t my passion or forever thing, but it was the start of my journey into being an entrepreneur,” she says.
Mindy Weiss has been planning Kardashian-Jenner parties since the ‘80s. When Khloé asked about retirement, Weiss laughs, “What would I do? I want to keep elevating and doing unique events. There are some really good event planners out there. I love competition. It’s better than sex to me.” (In a different episode with divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, Khloé had slightly different views, revealing that sex is her workout motivation.)
Dr. Becky sat down with Khloé to talk about how to parent from a place of connection, not control. It starts with moms taking care of themselves. That might sound impossible, but if you want to give your kids your best, it requires rest.
When it comes to mom guilt, Dr. Becky says to anticipate that voice. Silence that inner critic by telling yourself, “‘This feeling is a sign that I am doing something new. But I am not doing something wrong.’ When you do this, you open yourself up to a world of possibilities.”
Leave it to Kourtney Kardashian to deliver controversial parenting takes on her sister’s podcast. On the show, Kourtney shared, “Why do kids f–king go to school? Truly, it’s so dated…I will nurse my kids’ fever versus giving Tylenol or ibuprofen. I just won’t do that… Once I started therapy, I kind of started challenging the ways we did things sometimes, the way we all functioned. I love to go against the grain.”
Logan Ury shared with Khloé her passion for relationships and helping people find love in the modern dating world. She wants women to stop chasing after love. When you experience the pain of liking someone who doesn’t like you, Ury says to approach the experience with a growth mindset.
Shift the perspective from, ‘I’m not good enough,’ to ‘We are not a good match.’ “If they’re not choosing you, they’re not the right person for you,” she says.
Kessler’s conversation with Khloé about the many forms of grief and the importance of not grieving in isolation was probably the heaviest topic covered this season. Kessler shared about the power of sitting with grief, talking about it, and writing it down.
“After any grief, and after we have gone through the hurt and pain in our own time, we have a decision to make. Do we stay or do we swim again? Does this event constrict us or expand us?” Kessler says.
As a real-life fighter, White doesn’t listen to naysayers. Here’s his take on cancel culture and online criticism: “You can only be cancelled if you allow people who you don’t give a sh*t about to cancel you. You have a core group of people who you care about—who are your people. If they cancel you, that’s a different story. Who gives a sh*t about everybody else?”
