Khloé Kardashian Rings in Her 41st Birthday With ‘Best Surprise’ She’s Ever Had

Khloé Kardashian had planned a nice, quiet birthday episode of Khloé in Wonderland—some self-reflection, maybe a little wisdom-sharing, the kind of content that feels very “I’m in my 40s now.” Instead, Khloé was ambushed by five children with plenty of pink balloons and birthday energy.

But the episode started normally enough, with Khloé settling in for what she thought would be a solo session. Then the lights went out. She started telling ghost stories because what else do you do when the power cuts out mid-podcast? But when the lights came back on, she was face-to-face with her kids Tatum, 2, and True, 7, as well as her nieces Chicago, 7, and Dream, 8, and nephew Psalm, 6.

Cue the inevitable Kardashian-Jenner birthday breakdown—the good kind, involving cake and what Khloé called “the best surprise I’ve ever had.”

Self-reflecting on her 40th year

At 41, Khloé sees aging differently. Growing up, she associated turning 40 with The Golden Girls—which, fair enough, was pretty much the only representation of women over 35 on television for a while. But in 2025, 40 is the new 30.

“I am not afraid to age,” Khloé says on the podcast. “I think it’s super badass because I see the stuff Eva Longoria is doing, and she’s in her 50s. I think, ‘f*** yes!’ I get so excited.”

Part of the excitement might come from the fact that she dedicated the last few years of her 30s to doing things she was too afraid to do. She launched three businesses almost simultaneously: XO Khloé (her perfume), Khloud (a protein popcorn line), and Khloé in Wonderland (the podcast show where this whole birthday surprise went down).

“It just so happened that it was all in my 40th year,” she says. “I didn’t realize I’d be doing them all at once. It’s really exhilarating and a little overwhelming at times, but what better time to do it than now?”

Life advice and a birthday surprise

The impromptu studio surprise party led to some unexpectedly sweet moments, with the kids taking over the hosting duties. Dream wanted to know Auntie Koko’s birthday wish (“that we all continue to be healthy and happy and live life to the fullest… and I just want us to stay together and never be divided”),” while True asked what kind of party her mom would throw for her. Khloé’s response came easy— a “Hello Kitty” theme. “Because you love Hello Kitty right now, but it changes all the time. I’d throw a Care Bears party, more so for me, because I am trying to brainwash you to like Care Bears.”

Looking ahead to 41

Khloé doesn’t just think 40 was “her year,” she’s claiming the entire decade.” In the last half of her 30s, she recalls deeply doubting herself. It makes sense considering the very public nature of her relationship struggles with her ex Tristan Thompson. “I did the work to get better, and I still am,” she says.

The perk of turning 40 is you stop giving any f***s. “What was I tripping out about? Why did I care so much about what he or she thought or said about me?” Khloé says.

“I am so grateful for the 40 years I’ve had on this earth and the highs and the lows,” she reflects. “But I am so incredibly excited for what’s to come for the next 40 years. The sky is the limit.”
