Stassi Schroeder is many things—reality TV royalty, bestselling author, and unapologetic birthday enthusiast. The Vanderpump Rules alum recently appeared on Live from Bed with host Jade Iovine, where they did what they both do best: spill tea, roast millennial customs, and remind us all why being 30-something and deeply self-aware is the new black.

Stassi Schroeder’s return to reality TV on ‘Vanderpump Villa’

Let’s not pretend this episode dropped into a vacuum. Stassi’s recent headlines centered around her explosive on-camera fight with husband Beau Clark during the premiere of Vanderpump Villa. The argument got so heated that it forced the couple to therapy, with the tension stemming from family drama involving Beau’s sister. The awkwardness was palpable—and apparently, it doesn’t end there. “We’re just like adding pressure to, you know, our marriage and stuff,” Stassi admitted to Jade.

Stassi and Jade’s Take: Are Instagram birthday posts cringe?

Early in the episode, Stassi and Jade dissected the cultural curse of birthday Instagram stories. “We’ve been in birthday prison,” Jade declared, and Stassi couldn’t agree more. “I don’t want my stories to be about just reposts. Like, that’s not interesting. No one else cares.” Instead, she’s opted for a single, well-angled thirst trap where followers can comment “Happy Birthday, Queen” and keep it moving.

Millennial culture may be aging, but Stassi remains its snarky voice of reason. She jokes about how she used to love pale blue home décor—until marriage forced her to blend styles with Beau. “You kind of just have to compromise,” she sighed, admitting her dream aesthetic now leans more “old-world haunted mansion.” Her home goal? “I want people to wonder whether it’s haunted.”

Inside ‘Vanderpump Villa’: Family drama in a medieval castle

If Vanderpump Villa sounds like just another reality reboot, think again. This season, set in a literal medieval castle, is about as close as we’ll get to a Real Housewives/Hallmark movie crossover. “You could’ve just stopped at ‘medieval castle,’” Stassi quipped. “Say no more.” She spent a month and a half filming with her husband, kids, nanny, and even the nanny’s daughters.

And no, she wasn’t pretending to be a server this time. “I was a guest. The staff had to cater to me like I was a guest… God bless them,” she said.

But even within the comforts of a Tuscan castle, reality hits hard, especially when your toddler steals the spotlight. “Hartford wanted a mic,” Stassi laughed. “She was never required to film, but she’d see us filming and be like, ‘I want to come out and hang out with you guys.’”

Setting boundaries and navigating friendship breakups

As much as we love watching Stassi throw wine and shade, the episode also veered into meaningful territory. The two women commiserated on the emotional gymnastics of friendship breakups in adulthood. “There are no rules for it,” Stassi explained. “You’re not gonna remain friends with the same people your whole life.”

Boundaries? She’s mastered them. Validation? “I can’t validate,” she said bluntly. “Not gonna do it.”

Her best friend count is six—and they’re not all friends, which Stassi says is key: “I like having my own relationship with each of them.” Her one red flag in friendship? Guilt-tripping over lost time. “I need to know that if a year goes by and we finally talk again, you’re not making me feel bad.”

Stassi Schroeder on motherhood and beauty routines

Stassi didn’t shy away from talking about motherhood, calling her daughter Hartford “my karma for everything I did great and everything I did awful in life.” While she admitted she’s tougher in some ways, she’s also softened: “Having kids just makes you feel everything more deeply.”

And don’t worry—Botox came up too. “When it settles in, people are like, ‘Your skin looks amazing,’ and I’m like, ‘Yes, thank you.’” A queen who knows how to rock both a medieval castle and a preventative mini facelift? That’s growth.

Stassi Schroder is your spirit guide if you’ve ever outgrown a friendship, ghosted a group chat, or politely passed on someone’s “30th birthday in Tulum” Google Doc invite. And Live from Bed is the kind of podcast that celebrates being slightly tired, slightly judgmental, but deeply evolved—and that’s something to admire.
