Tom Sandoval is in his redemption era—or at least he wants to be. The Vanderpump Rules villain-turned-Traitors wildcard stopped by Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast to chat about life post-Scandoval. If you’re looking for apologies, dramatic revelations, or any form of accountability—well, keep waiting. We get a lot of delusion, deflection, and that classic Sandoval self-seriousness that somehow manages to be infuriating and fascinating.

Two Years Post-Scandoval: “Happy Anniversary?”

Yes, it has been two years since the cheating scandal that sent Bravo fans into a spiral and transformed  Ariana Madix’s career. When Hirsch brought up Scandoval’s anniversary, Sandoval reacted in a way that can only be described as peak Tom: “Happy anniversary!”

Sir. Please.

When pressed on whether the fallout still haunts him, he admitted, “I do feel like it’s in the past. Obviously, you know, everybody—like, I hope everybody else considers it in the past too.”

Ah, the classic ‘Can’t we just move on?’ plea. But to his credit, he did reflect (if only for a moment) on how the scandal forced him to reevaluate his friendships: “When you go through something like that, it really shows you who your real friends are.”

Translation: Some people stood by him, some didn’t, and he’s keeping receipts.

Life After Schwartz & Sandy’s: “It is what it is.”

One major post-scandal casualty? His business with Tom Schwartz, Schwartz & Sandy’s. While the restaurant technically still exists, Sandoval’s enthusiasm for it? Not so much. When Hirsch asked how he feels about the end of an era, he gave an exhausted “It is what it is.”

Nothing screams closure like vague indifference, right?

But in true Sandoval fashion, he couldn’t resist reminding us just how much effort he put into the doomed establishment. Would he ever go that hard for a restaurant again? “Bad taste in our mouth,” he said. Okay, so that’s a no.

The Victoria of It All: “Can You Guys Just Leave My Girlfriend Alone?”

For those out of the loop, Sandoval has moved on with a new girlfriend, Victoria Lee Robinson. And while she’s not in the reality TV sphere (“She didn’t sign up for this”), she’s certainly getting the Bravo-adjacent hate. Sandoval lamented that she gets “DMs constantly. Made-up shit.”

And honestly? He’s not wrong to call that out. Love him or hate him; it’s weird when fans go after someone outside of the reality TV mess.

But before you start thinking this is his character development arc, let’s remember—he met Victoria during the “Scandoval” fallout. As Hirsch pointed out, “She knew everything that was going on.” To which Tom defended, “She didn’t know how… I mean, there are people out there that don’t watch Vanderpump Rules.”

‘Traitors’ Tom: Delusional, Dedicated, and Delightfully Absurd

Of course, we must talk about Sandoval’s unhinged, wildly entertaining stint on Peacock’s Traitors. While his reality TV past loomed over his casting, he went in with laser focus, stating: “I was there to play the game.” According to Vulture’s brilliantly snarky recap, Sandoval took Traitors with the seriousness of a CIA operation—studying castmates, analyzing interactions, sweating through his sweater, and making weird doll noises in a challenge that has now become legendary.

When Hirsch brought up his Traitors TikTok fanbase, he seemed genuinely pleased, saying, “Whether they’re laughing with me or at me, I’m just glad that they’re laughing.”

You see, that’s the energy we need from Sandoval. Full send into the ridiculousness.

Chrishell, Gabby, and That Awkward Roundtable Tension

One of the more eyebrow-raising Traitors moments was Sandoval’s tension with Chrishell Stause. He claims that before filming, she casually mentioned, “I do follow Ariana on Instagram.” Cool, right? No beef.

But then, at the roundtable, she suddenly upped the ante, saying, “Ariana and I are friends.” According to Sandoval, “It was so weird… she was like, ‘I don’t even feel safe being this close to you.’”

Did he take it well? Absolutely not.

And then there’s Gabby Windey, who wasn’t sure whether to acknowledge him at first. But, as he happily reported, “She warmed up to me a little bit.” Baby steps.

Tom Sandoval, Reality TV’s Forever Villain?

So, what’s next for Sandoval? More reality TV seems inevitable. Survivor? The Challenge? He’s open. But for now, he’s still processing the Traitors murder that took him out of the game.

Would he do anything differently? “I would have not been so vocal.” Which is funny, considering Sandoval has never been known for knowing when to shut up.

As for Bravo? He’s keeping that door slightly ajar. He claims, “There’s never… it’s never like things don’t come back around.”

Translation: If Andy Cohen calls, he’s picking up.

The Scandoval of It All

Love him or loathe him, Tom Sandoval is still that reality TV character—the guy who takes things too seriously, over-explains everything, and somehow keeps finding ways to stay in the conversation. And despite the scandals, the sidecars, and the sweaty sweaters, he’s managed to pivot (if not quite redeem) his image.

As Amanda Hirsch put it best, You thrive in these games.”

Indeed he does.

What’s next, Sandy? We’re almost scared to find out.
