Kristin Cavallari Has a Vision Board and It Actually Worked

Kristin Cavallari is gearing up for a busy summer that kicks off with the premiere of Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour on E! this June 4. With warm weather officially here, the Let’s Be Honest host is answering some juicy fan questions in a round of “Sip or Spill.”

This time around, with a drink in hand, Cavallari is sipping on Astral tequila. Her go-to mixed drink? Tequila, sparkling water, fresh lime juice, jalapeño, and a dash of maple syrup. She’s keeping it light though—she’s not trying to get too lit on a random afternoon.

The questions pour in as expected: What’s up with her dating life? Who are her celebrity crushes? Did she recently redo her boobs? (The answer is yes. She redid them two weeks before Stagecoach. Good thing! The left one ruptured.)

Tune into Let’s Be Honest as divulges some hot piping tea—from the dress debacle on the day of her The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon appearance, her relationship with plastic surgery, an awkward interaction with George Clooney, and her celebrity crush at Stagecoach. She’s setting the record straight (per usual). For more Cavallari, don’t forget to check out Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour on E!, for all the insider tea from her podcast tour.

Why Cavallari didn’t show her kids online—until now

“What made you start showing your kids’ faces when you have refrained until now?” is a frequent (and valid) question with a simple answer: “I wanted them to decide if they wanted their faces on social media, if they wanted to be recognizable. I have a large platform. If I post my kids, people will start to recognize them. I wanted them to decide.”

But when all three of her kids started begging to be featured (“Post me! Post me!”), she finally relented. It started with her oldest son, Camden, and then her youngest kids, Jaxen and Sailor, followed. “I am really happy. They are the biggest part of my life, and I couldn’t show that for the last 12 years,” she said. “It’s nice being able to show people my kids and my life.”

Her kids recently turned the tables, interviewing her on Let’s Be Honest about what it was like filming her previous reality TV show, Very Cavallari. Media trained by mom? We approve!

Cavallari’s style and the dress that never was

Sometimes the universe has other plans, and Cavallari learned this the hard way during her recent Tonight Show appearance. Picture this: she’s scheduled to appear on Fallon the same night as the Met Gala (because of course), wearing an iconic suit-dress situation with tights. The person on her team who was supposed to bring her dress to New York was working with another client at the Met Gala, so an assistant stepped in to transport the look from LA to New York.

Well, the flight got flight delayed, the dress never made it, and Cavallari found herself outfit-less hours before showtime.

Cavallari, however, didn’t let it get her down: “I was just like, ‘We’ll figure it out. Because what is the point of getting mad? Me getting mad doesn’t make the dress magically appear. What can you do? It’s out of your control.”

Her easy-going, roll-with-the-punches perspective might just be the result of one of her favorite wellness hacks: hypnotherapy. It kept her calm during the dress debacle. “Doing hypnotherapy made me have a different outlook and perspective on life when things are not happening the way you want them to go,” she said. “It taught me that things are happening ‘for me’ and not ‘to me.’ So this dress incident is happening ‘for’ me. I don’t know why, but I was not supposed to wear that dress on The Tonight Show.” Hypnotherapy, bufo, what alternative modalities will Cavallari do next?

Who is Cavallari’s celebrity crush?

On the topic of celebrity crushes, Cavallari says her track record in this department has been consistently disappointing. The old adage “never meet your heroes” apparently also goes for celebrity crushes.

“They’re always a disappointment. I’ve met guys and I want them to be like the character they play or the songs they write, and they’re not. Reality sets in,“ Cavallari laughs.

But there’s always an exception. Earlier this year, Cavallari created a vision board (!) on her phone and on it included two men who she thinks are hot: Charlie Hunnam, from Sons of Anarchy, and Brandon Sklenar, from It Ends With Us. The catch is that Cavallari lives in Nashville now, so Hollywood run-ins are rare these days. But as fate would have it, while on her podcast tour in Chicago back in March, she saw Hunnam in the lobby of her hotel.

A Stagecoach-destined meeting

Then came Stagecoach in April: Luke Combs is commanding the main stage, Cavallari and her crew arrive fashionably late to the performance and enter through a different side entrance. A few drinks and a little microdosing later, Cavallari picks out Sklenar in the middle of the crowd. In a blurry moment, she might have said his name wrong, but it was worth it.

She says, “Total fangirl moment. I f****ing attacked him. He was trying to get through and was on a mission not to be recognized. I ruined it for him. My life was made. I could die today and be a happy woman. He is more gorgeous in person. I am happy I met him in person, and I’m keeping him on my vision board.”

But—hold your horses—she is NOT planning on dating him. He’s already spoken for! And either way, Cavallari isn’t interested in dating a younger guy who doesn’t have kids. (Sklenar checks both of those boxes.) Her goal is just to date a “regular guy” version of Sklenar. But the real moral of the story, Cavallari says: “Make a vision board. This sh*t comes to life! It works.” BRB creating a vision board immediately.
