Bobbi Althoff Sets the Record Straight

Bobbi Althoff is no stranger to the internet’s sharp tongue. Bobbi remains a polarizing figure from accusations of being an “industry plant” to the aftermath of her Drake interview and Offset’s recent public takedown. But in her recent appearance on The Skinny Confidential podcast, she’s here to set the record straight. And she does so in the only way she knows how: with a mix of blunt honesty, biting humor, and that signature deadpan delivery.

The Accidental Viral Star

For those still wondering how Bobbi Althoff went from TikTok obscurity to sitting across from some of the biggest celebrities in the world, she explains it as a strategic, sometimes desperate, experiment in virality. “I wanted to go viral. No, I wanted to so bad,” she admits. Before the celebrity interviews, before the podcast, Bobbi was just another TikToker throwing spaghetti at the wall.

Her early content consisted of parodies of being a “bad mom.” “I was just thinking of the most outrageous things that mothers would never actually do,” she explains. One example: Telling her followers she was taking her six-month-old daughter to get braces. “People are so gullible,” she laughs. “They’ll believe anything.”

And believe them, they did. The content worked. Bobbi went viral on TikTok and eventually crossed into mainstream recognition. But as anyone who has ever tasted internet fame knows, virality is a fickle beast. It can launch you into the stratosphere and just as quickly drag you down.

Offset Vs. Bobbi

If you somehow missed it, Offset—one-third of the Grammy-nominated rap group, Migos, and husband to one Cardi B—recently handed Bobbi a public L so brutal that the internet is still recovering. During an episode of her podcast, Offset looked her dead in the eyes and delivered what can only be described as a flawless takedown. “You’re not funny to me,” he said. “You’re not really good at your job.”

Ouch. The internet exploded. Some applauded Offset’s unfiltered honesty, while others cringed at the sheer awkwardness of the moment. Bobbi, however, seems unfazed. “I’m not trying to be good,” she insists on The Skinny Confidential. “At no point has this ever been something that’s supposed to be a good podcast. It’s a shitty podcast.”

She doesn’t research her guests. She doesn’t prepare. And that, ironically, is the entire appeal. It’s the anti-interview interview.

The Drake Interview That Changed Everything (And Then Ended Everything)

Of course, no Bobbi Althoff retrospective would be complete without discussing the interview that turned her into an A-list interviewer (and also the one that allegedly ended her and Drake’s friendship). The now-infamous sit-down with Drake was peak Bobbi: dry, painfully awkward, and yet, deeply entertaining.

The viral clip of her lying stiffly in bed next to Drake, grilling him with absurdly deadpan questions, cemented her status as someone who could make even the world’s biggest rapper uncomfortable.

But then things got weird.

Shortly after the interview, reports surfaced that Bobbi had been kicked out of Drake’s party. According to 105.1 The Bounce, she (allegedly) showed up to a bash at Drake’s house only to be asked to leave. Cue the internet theories. Was it staged? Did she actually offend him? Was Drake not as in on the joke as he initially seemed?

Bobbi has never fully explained what went down, but she has made one thing clear: She’s no stranger to the internet’s ability to twist a narrative. “People think I got lucky,” she says. “But I worked for this. I put myself in places to get lucky.”

The Love-Hate Relationship With Internet Fame

One of the more surprising admissions in The Skinny Confidential episode? Bobbi reads every single comment (which is probably not wise, as Meghan Markle’s former PR maven advised).

“I see my face on my For You Page, I click it, and I’m like, ‘What did you guys have to say about me?’” she confesses. And what they have to say is often brutal.

She filters out words like “ugly,” “Botox,” and “filler” from her comments because, well, why give the trolls the satisfaction? But even with the filters, the hate still seeps through. “People love to hate,” she sighs. “At no point in my life have I ever been on the internet criticizing someone else. Have inside thoughts. Have thoughts you share with your friends. You don’t need to announce them to me all the time.”

And yet, despite the vitriol, Bobbi keeps going. Keeps filming. Keeps posting. Because, as she sees it, if people aren’t talking about her, that’s when she should really start worrying.

The Future of Bobbi Althoff

So what’s next? Bobbi promises a return to her roots: more dry humor, more awkward silences, and absolutely zero attempts at being a “good” interviewer. “I got out of character for a minute there,” she admits. “I started getting insecure because of the comments. But then I realized—that’s what people liked in the first place.”

It’s a rare kind of self-awareness in the influencer world, and perhaps that’s why, love her or hate her, Bobbi Althoff remains one of the most compelling personalities in the game. Whether she’s getting roasted by Offset, ghosted by Drake, or endlessly dissected by internet detectives, one thing’s for sure: she’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
