From Bachelor to queer icon

After her heterosexual journey competing on The Bachelor and starring on her own season of The Bachelorette, Gabby came out as queer on The View! 

“Apparently all the lesbians and bi girls loved me on Bachelor,” she said on an earlier episode of Long Winded. “It’s like everyone knew before me.”

Now Windey has officially locked it down with her partner, comedian Robby Hoffman. In fact, she revealed last week on Instagram that they’ve been married since January! We love to see it.

Her voice though

Windey revealed to Wiger that during The Bachelor, her breathy voice drew attention from confused viewers. “I got an email once on The Bachelor,” she told Wiger, “It was very, like, seemingly sweet. And she was like, ‘Thank you so much. My daughter also has a speech impediment,’” she said. This parent was thanking Windey for providing positive representation, but her response? “I’m like, ‘I don’t!’”

Wiger, who says that many fans of Survivor and The Traitors assume that she’s autistic because of her voice and mannerisms, said that Windey’s voice is “soothing.” We agree.

She has a way with words

Social media has been having a collective meltdown over Windey and Wiger’s conversation on Long Winded this week, particularly over Windey’s take on sex work, and several fans felt that this quote deserved to be “embroidered on a pillow.”

“I am very pro sex work. I think they need to be regulated. They’re the original miners. They’re working with men. They need to be unionized. ‘Cause the canary is singing. They need to be protected. I wanna have a sex worker on, so bad, just to get their thought process.”

Lots of commenters mentioned that Windey has earned a new title as “The Canary.” At the very least, can we get it on a t-shirt? 

“She is my bible,” said an Instagram user. “I need a book of Gabby-isms,” wrote one fan. Another hyped her up even further, writing, “Gabby for prez immediately please!”

She’s a winner

Though she apparently hasn’t been paid her winnings yet, Windey impressed Traitors fans with her intelligence, strategy, and personality on the show. She’s splitting the prize money with Dylan Efron, Dolores Catania, and Ivar Mountbatten. 

Perhaps the canary needs that union after all.
