Step 1: Open the search page in the Twitter app.

Launch the Twitter mobile app on your phone and login into your Twitter account if you aren’t already signed in. Locate the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of your screen. It’s the second one, to the right of the house icon. This will open the search page.

Step 2: Browse the Trending tab.

Locate and tap on the Trending tab at the top of your screen, underneath the search bar. You’ll be shown a list of topics and hashtags currently trending on Twitter. To see the tweets behind each trend, click on the topic or hashtag in the list. 

How To See What Is Trending On Twitter Using A Computer

Step 1: Login to Twitter.

In your web browser, go to www.twitter.com and sign in using your username and password.

Step 2: Explore trending topics.

Locate and click on the Explore tab with a magnifying glass next to it, to the left of your feed. Click on the Trending tab located under the search bar. You’ll be shown a list of topics and hashtags currently trending on Twitter. You can then click on each of them to see tweets included in the trend.

How To See What Is Trending On Twitter In Other Countries

You can also check out what’s trending in other countries! To do this, you will probably have to change your Trends settings. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Access your settings menu.

Click on either your profile icon or the navigation menu icon to locate your settings, then tap “Privacy and Safety.”

Step 2: Adjust your explore settings.

Under “Your X Activity” tap on “Content You See” then select “Explore settings.” If the slider next to “Show content in your current location” is on, you are seeing personalized trends based on your current location. If you want to see trends in other countries, you need to change your location, so turn this feature off.

Step 3: Search for trends by location.

Once the personalized trends feature is disabled, go back to your timeline, tap on the “Trending” tab, and then in the search bar type the location you want to see trends for. You can also choose from the provided list. 

Be aware that if you can’t find the location you want to find trends for, it means there aren’t enough posts from that area to generate a trends list.

Turn on your notifications for trending topics.

Another super convenient tool that Twitter offers is the ability to turn on notifications for trending topics and/or trending hashtags. You can do this by clicking your profile picture , going to the “settings and privacy” tab, clicking notifications, and setting your preferences. You’ll probably see a handful of people you follow on other social media platforms discussing trending news and topics, but they’ll never be as in-depth or current as they are on Twitter.
