Dear Media
When we have any second to spare, we’re turning on a podcast. And when we say “a second to spare,” we mean at work, in the gym, cleaning up around the house—you name it, we’re here for it. That’s the thing about a good podcast! You can (and will want to) listen to them anywhere. Even better, though? There’s a podcast for every vibe, mood, and niche.
Craving a little lifestyle elevation? Tune into “Mel Robbins on the Tools, Habits, & Mindset Shifts That Actually Change Your Life” from The Bossticks. Want current pop culture updates? Good news, Not Skinny But Not Fat just dropped “Brand Safe Tana Mongeau.” But what if you want a little hot gossip every once in a while?
That’s exactly why we fell in love with Normal Gossip. It has the witty hosts, it has the relatable stories, it has that low-stakes mess with high-stakes entertainment. And sometimes, all you really want is an easy listen full of gossip, drama, and lore. Plus, according to What We Said, gossip is good for you! So today, that’s exactly what we’re diving into. Let’s talk about allll the best podcasts like Normal Gossip.

10 Podcasts Like Normal Gossip: Stories You’ll Obsess Over
Not all podcasts are created equal. Take podcasts like Something Was Wrong—these shows are moody, psychological, and full of edge-of-your-seat suspense. Podcasts like Call Her Daddy? Sexy, raunchy, and offer a treasure trove of take-home-worthy tips.
And then, of course, you have podcasts like Normal Gossip—hilarious, relatable, and full of “how this is real” scenarios. The best part about this genre? It’s perfect no matter the occasion—whether you’re looking for something to pass the time at work or are lounging in a bubble bath hoping for a little real-life entertainment.
Before we dive straight in, though, let’s set the stage. Let’s talk about what Normal Gossip is about, what the hosts are like, and what the show has to offer. This way, you’ll see exactly how each podcast rec captures those same vibes—and exceeds your expectations!
What Is the Normal Gossip Podcast About?
Normal Gossip, hosted by Rachelle Hampton and Se’era Spragley Ricks, is a storytelling podcast that dives into the kind of drama you ABSOLUTELY want to hear about. Think less “Baldoni Trial, RichTok, and People’s Sexiest Man Alive” from Girls Gotta Eat and more “Sister-in-Law Drama” from What We Said. These stories are petty, relatable, and, best of all, have nothing to do with your life. (That’s the best kind of drama.)
Each episode centers on a listener-submitted story about everyday people and the—dare we say—insane situations they find themselves in. We’re talking friendship fallouts, neighbor chaos, and roommate nightmares. Take “Forks Out with Tracy Clayton,” for example—an episode about a disappearing sweet potato pie. Sounds mundane enough, right? WRONG.
Normal Gossip treats drama with nuance and humor. It offers slow-burn suspense, perfect comedic timing, and just enough speculation to keep listeners totally hooked. Think of it this way: every episode feels like girl chats over spiked matcha lattes in your fancy little C’est Le Point mugs. Or it exudes peak group-chat energy as a friend tells a suspenseful story, text by agonizing text. (Like HELLO, the anxiety is killing us!)
At the same time, it’s cozy and comforting, and it offers a gentle reminder that, yes, things COULD be worse.
Why Did Kelsey McKinney Leave Normal Gossip?
So… OG fans of Normal Gossip know that Rachelle and Se’era weren’t always the hosts. For three years and nine seasons, Kelsey McKinney and co-creator Alex Sujong Laughhlin hosted the show together before stepping away. And we get what you may be thinking!
“There’s bad blood,” “They left for a reason,” “There’s a secret feud going on!” Wrong, wrong, and wrong again. In fact, the girls even said it was a very “peaceful transition of power,” so to speak. That’s why they tossed the show to Rachelle and Se’era—they loved it and wanted to keep it in good hands.
That said, Kelsey McKinney left because she simply wanted to pursue other things. Like her book, You Didn’t Hear This From Me: (Mostly) True Notes on Gossip! She also stated that the scriptwriting for each episode was a lot of work, and she didn’t want to burn out. (Cue “Breaking the Burnout Loop” from The Art of Being Well.) (Also cue “Elements of a Good Podcast.”)
TL;DR—Kelsey and Alex did what was best for themselves, the show, and their listeners. You can still tune into Normal Gossip, and, of course, keep up with the OG hosts on social media!

What Are the Best Podcasts If You Like Normal Gossip?
The Dating Detectives
You KNOW we had to start off strong with The Dating Detectives. This podcast, hosted by private investigator Mackenzie Fultz and comedian Hanna Anderson, is equal parts entertaining and suspenseful. Every episode is dedicated to a new story of digital dating deception.
Think: dogfishing, gaslighting, and batsh*t-level narcissism. Is it enjoyable and designed to keep us on our toes? Absolutely. But that’s not their only goal here. They want to expose con artists and common manipulation tactics to restore trust in the digital dating world.
Is it a liiiitle bit darker than Normal Gossip? Sure. But is it as binge-worthy? No doubt. Start with “Ken Undercover: The Husband in Disguise”—you won’t be disappointed.
Petty Crimes
There are SO many reasons you need to start binge-listening to Petty Crimes. Hosted by SNL writer Ceara Jane O’Sullivan and retired model Griff Stark-Ennis, this podcast is part-comedy, part true-crime. But not actual, jail time-worthy offenses—more like social faux pas.
Not ordering a server’s recommendation? Not thanking someone for holding the door? Introducing someone but forgetting their name mid-sentence? These are exact situations Petty Crimes puts on trial, and the verdicts are always hilarious, dramatic, and totally validating.
Looking for an episode to start with? Tune into “Grand Theft Uh Oh” featuring our very own Mackenzie Fultz from The Dating Detectives! For another fun little crossover, listen to “Mackenzie Undercover: Operation Girls Trip” with Griff Stark-Ennis.
Scam Goddess
Scam Goddess, hosted by award-winning comedian and actress Laci Mosley, coins her podcast as “true con.” AKA, true crime without all the gruesome gore. She covers topics like Fyre Festival, wig snatchers, and MLM schemes, all backed by witty commentary and hilarious takes. (Petition for her take on the Coco Berthmann Story?)
Even more exciting, Laci invites comedians and celebrities to break down the details and join in on the conversation. Like “The Queen of Cons w/ Miranda Cosgrove & Nathan Kress?” An oldie, but SUCH a goodie.
If you fall in love with this one as much as we did, check out “Podcasts Like Scamanda!” We offer a ton of similar, juicy recommendations.
Bad Dates
If you’ve ever thought your dating life was bad, you haven’t listened to Bad Dates. Originally hosted by Jameela Jamil and now hosted by Joel Kim Booster, this podcast lives by one rule: “the worst dates make the best stories.” Take “How to Balance Families and Deal with In-Laws” from We Met At Acme and times that by 10.
In each episode, Joel invites guests on to discuss their worst dates. And this show is DYNAMIC—stories range from “that was weird” to “this should’ve been an episode on ID channel.” Just like Scam Goddess, Joel also invites comedians and actors, making the show even more entertaining.
Start with “Slutty Dolphin (w/ Jenny Zigrino, Brent Morin, and Jono Zalay).”
Everybody Has a Secret
Everybody Has a Secret offers that no-holds-barred kind of content we all crave. Each episode is like a confession that we’ll never post, text, or admit—but we’ll definitely encourage others to. Hosted by Annabelle Lee and rotating co-hosts, this show features listener-submitted stories about, well, everything.
Affairs, relationship dilemmas, workplace drama—you want it, there’s an episode about it. It’s funny, candid, and empathetic. It really gives that “I’m so sorry that happened to you… tell me more” energy. Start off with “I’m Attracted to His Generational Wealth.” Those who get it, get it.

Diss and Tell
Okay, so we know that Normal Gossip focuses on relatable, average, everyday feuds. But when you do crave a little celeb spill spesh? Diss and Tell is the place to go. Hosted by Sydney Battle and Matt Bellassai, the duo explores celebrity feuds, brand breakups, and pop-culture betrayals. And let us tell you, we eat it UP.
It’s part history lesson, part group chat speculation. Plus, we can all look up the rumors and theories on social media, right? We want those in-the-dark details about the “who, what, when, where, and why” questions people ALWAYS shy away from.
Basically, every episode feels like “The Hills: It’s On Bitch (Season 5, Episode 11)” from Let’s Be Honest. Just listen to “Meghan Markle and Samantha Markle” to see what we mean!
Gossipmongers
Gossipmongers is chaotic in the BEST way. Hosts Joe Wilkinson and David Earl spend each episode deep diving into listener-submitted gossip that ranges from bizarre to borderline unbelievable. But here’s the best part: the hosts react in real time.
It’s not like they read the story before the episode! Nope, they’re reading it live with allllll the listeners. Reactions are authentic, comedic, and completely unhinged. Plus, at the end of each episode, they even crown a “winner”—AKA, who had the craziest, funniest, most outrageous story.
Just listen to “The Angry River Floater and the Dolphin Fingerer.” Yeah, the content is as good as the title.
Beyond the Blinds
If you’re well-versed in pop culture and social media, you know good and well what blind items are. They’re those juicy, “who said this and is it true?” rumors that we’re DYING to know more about. Well, that’s exactly what Beyond the Blinds covers!
Hosts Troy and Kelli give us the entire pop-culture iceberg—breaking down rumored scandals and Hollywood whispers from behind that red velvet rope. It’s gossip meets detective work for people who say they “don’t believe rumors—only theories.” Riiiiight. Listen to “Reality TV Corner: RHOP, Vanderpump Rules, Southern Charm, & More!”
Two Hot Takes
Just like Everybody Has a Secret, Two Hot Takes is hosted by Morgan Absher with a rotating line-up of co-hosts. As if that wasn’t intriguing enough, these co-hosts include Drew Afualo, Alejandra Nagel, and Hannah Berner. Yeah, we know you’re hooked now.
In each episode, Morgan (and co-host) reacts to wild Reddit threads—particularly from AITA. They explore everything from infidelity to simple partner pet peeves, offering fun, big-sister energy reactions. Start with either “That’s Not Funny.. Ft. Hannah Berner” or “Ugly Hearts.. Ft. Gigi Gorgeous.” You honestly can’t go wrong with either.
The Big Flop
The Big Flop is exactly what you think it is—a podcast dedicated to all the flops in history, technology, pop culture, and entertainment. Host Misha Brown fine-tooth combs these topics and breaks down the story behind where each project went wrong.
Think: the movie Cats, The Bling Ring, and Katy Perry. She also discusses who made a notable comeback and what the pop culture community had to say about the drama. It’s nostalgic, it’s hilarious, and it’s always on our “Listen Next” list. Tune into “Scooter Braun vs. Taylor Swift: Inside the $300M Music Feud” to start!
As much as we love Normal Gossip, these podcast recommendations definitely scratch that itch.
There’s no denying that we love Kelsey McKinney and Alex Sujong Laughhlin. There’s also no denying that we’re obsessed with Rachelle Hampton and Se’era Spragley Ricks.
