Comedian Leanne Morgan on Her Journey from Tennessee to Hollywood, Pinto Beans, Her Secret to the Best Cornbread, and Menopause

Katie talks with her friend and comedian, Leanne Morgan. The two chat about their shared love of country food, humble beginnings, family, perimenopause, menopause, and everything in between.

Leanne describes life on the road as a stand up, her experience in her recently-released movie, You’re Cordially Invited, with Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell, and the ups and downs of the entertainment business. She is currently in Los Angeles working on her own sitcom, and tells about the thrill of having a parking spot with her name on it on the Warner Bros. studio lot.

Being from Tennessee, Leanne has strong love of Southern "country" food. Her pinto bean recipe is the one that most reminds her of home, and she has a love of cornbread (with a hint of sugar), fried chicken, and mac and cheese. Leanne is a passionate mother and grandmother. She began doing stand-up comedy at the age of 32 while she was raising her kids, taking every opportunity that came her way.

Katie and Leanne talk about their own experiences with diet, exercise, post-baby bodies, perimenopause, and menopause. Leanne's former podcast was called "Sweaty and Pissed," because her daughter, Tess, told her that's what best described her.

Join Katie and Leanne for an incredible story full of laughter and relatable moments.
